I want to share a few quick updates about some things in the miles and points world…. This site and all of BoardingArea will be moving to a fancier server starting tonight. My normal morning post will go out late tonight, so there will still be some new content for anyone who would like to visit tomorrow morning while drinking their requisite cup of coffee, but the ability to comment… Read the Rest.
I have two contests/fundraisers that end tonight. The first is a campaign put on by several BoardingArea bloggers to raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims, “one comment at a time.” We have collectively pledged up to $1,800 for 1,800 total comments. You can comment once on each of the six participating blogs, to raise a total of $6 toward the cause. Unfortunately, we are nowhere near the $1,800 max, so… Read the Rest.
Update: Thank you so much to everyone who participated. The donation has been made in honor of all 104 comments left. Like many of us, I have been seeing the photos and hearing the stories coming out of the Northeast related to Hurricane Sandy, and I want to do more than just say “Oh that’s horrible, I wish I could help”. The reality is that most of us can help. … Read the Rest.
Thanks so much to everyone who entered to win a Star MegaDo 4 seat on this site. I hope you all had fun entering on the various participating BoardingArea sites! The randomly selected winner from this site is entry #70, Chris H. Chris, now goes on with the finalists from each of the other BoardingArea blogs to have a shot at winning one of two free seats on the MegaDo. … Read the Rest.
If you haven’t already registered to win a seat on the upcoming Star MegaDo 4 – this is your last reminder (from me anyway). You can enter once on each participating blog on BoardingArea for a chance to win one of two seats that will be given away. Not only do you get a free spot on the chartered domestic portion of the trip from SFO-IAH-ORD, but you get hotels… Read the Rest.
I am a huge MegaDo junkie. Seriously. I tried it once, and thought that would be my only taste of a MegaDo ever. You know, a once in a lifetime experimental type of thing. And I really liked it. So, I went again a few months later and I really, really liked it. Now I need more, so I am going on not only the domestic, but the international portion… Read the Rest.
Fellow BoardingArea blogger Road Warriorette recently entered the world of “family travelers” when she gave birth to her first child! I’m super excited for her, and was happy to write a guest post so she could spend a little extra time offline with her newest family member. Given that the focus of her site is primarily on business travel and being a “road warrior(ette)”, I focused the post on my… Read the Rest.
I hate asking for help from anyone for anything. For goodness sake, I’m a Texan, and we get things done on our own. However, if being a parent has taught me anything, it has taught me that sometimes you do need help from others whether you want to ask for it or not. Before I tell you what I need help with, I want to rewind a couple days to… Read the Rest.
Happy Thursday morning! Weeks with a three day weekend just fly by for me, so hope the same is true wherever you may be. I wanted to make sure you don’t miss out on a few free points deals – especially since we all know that free points are the very best kind! So, here are a few quick points about some happenings in the world of miles and points…. Read the Rest.
What happens when 10 BoardingArea folks get together in Los Angeles? Lots of fun and lots of great ideas to make our sites (I actually kind of hate the word blog) even better in the future. Nine of us attended BlogWorld in LA last weekend and during the day we learned lots of great information about blogging, and during the evenings we all got together and had a great time!… Read the Rest.
