Today’s Chase Reconsideration Phone Call Recap

On my most recent (and un-planned) credit card churn, I applied for three rewards credit cards.  The churn was prompted by an offer I couldn’t pass up for the Amex Premier Rewards Gold card at 50,000 points for $1,000 in spending within three months (twice as good as the standard offer).  I didn’t know how long that offer would be around for, so I churned a few weeks earlier than… Read the Rest.

Review: Park Hyatt Beaver Creek (Part 1)

On our recent ski trip to the Beaver Creek area, we spent our first few nights at the Westin Beaver Creek Resort and Spa (that you can read about here and here). Knowing that this would be the first time our daughter was to attend ski school, we planned to spend a little bit of our trip at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek since it is located literally snowball throwing… Read the Rest.

Chase Sapphire Preferred 7% Annual Points Bonuses Posting

Just a reminder that it is the time of year that we reap the benefits of the 7% annual points benefit on the Chase Sapphire Preferred®.  On Flyertalk there are already reports from people who have had their February statements close, and they now have their 7% points bonus on points earned last year.  Woohoo!  My February statement has yet to close, so I still have a few days to… Read the Rest.

The Best Credit Card Sign-up Bonus Offers Right Now

As you may know, the one week limited time 75,000 Membership Reward points sign-up bonus offer for the Amex Business Gold Rewards card is ending on Monday around 11AM Eastern (two days from now).  I have been getting a few questions about that offer, as well as what are the other top credit card offers that are publicly available right now.  Given the increased interest in credit card sign-up bonuses,… Read the Rest.

Hotel Review: Hyatt Olive 8 Seattle

On my recent mini-trip to Seattle I decided to stay at the Hyatt Olive 8. It is literally around the corner from the Grand Hyatt Seattle, so it was a hard decision between the two since the price was very similar for my dates. However, I gave preference to the Olive 8 as I had read very good things about it, and I love that they are a “green” LEED… Read the Rest.

Hotel Review: The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa (Part 2)

In December I was fortunate enough to spend roughly 24 hours in Maui. Clearly that is not anywhere remotely near enough time to really experience the island, but I made the most of the time that I had. In Part 1 of my review, I covered the room, Regency Club, and basics of the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. In this post I am going to cover the on-site… Read the Rest.

My Experience Getting Free United Club Passes at the Chase VIP Lounge in Houston

Today I headed to the Houston Galleria with my parents and Little C to do some shopping/browsing, ice skate, and get some United Club passes that were being given away at the Chase VIP Lounge at the Galleria. I have written about this temporary lounge here, but had yet to visit myself. To access the lounge you need to have any of the Chase United credit cards. The Chase VIP… Read the Rest.

Why I Applied for the Chase Ink Plus Now

A couple of days ago, I applied for my last rewards credit card of the year (barring some end-of-the-world bajillion points offer that I can’t refuse).  I had been meaning to do it for a few weeks now, but life kept getting in the way of sitting down and focusing on the application(s).  I waited so long that one of the cards I wanted was no longer available at the… Read the Rest.

Southwest $100 or Less One-Way Fares Are Back for Dec Travel Dates

On Cyber Monday Southwest offered $100 or less one-way fares for any non-stop travel on 12/24.  It was the perfect way to book an affordable last minute holiday trip (well, at least half of it anyway).  Now they have brought this deal back (with tweaks), and expanded the available dates for travel.  The dates for this deal now include Dec. 18-19 and 24-25, 2012.  It says “in select markets”, so… Read the Rest.

Prepping for the Last Credit Card Churn of the Year

Just over every three months, I apply for rewards credit cards.  It is no secret that credit card sign-up bonuses are the quickest and easiest way to rack up a ton of miles and points in a hurry (at least for those of us lucky enough to be based in the US where the offers are plentiful).  Sure, there is the “work” of having to keep up with more credit… Read the Rest.
