The much beloved Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has introduced a way to earn more points on dining expenses on “First Fridays” (the first Friday of each month).  They are increasing the regular two points per dollar earned on dining expenses charged to the card to three points per dollar on First Fridays.  For those who are calendar challenged, those dates for 2013 are May 3rd, June 7th, July 5th, August… Read the Rest.

Eating Our Way Through London and Dublin

On our recent trip to Dublin and London, one of the main things on our to-do list was to enjoy some good meals. Dinnertime at home with a three-year-old is far from relaxing or luxurious, so we wanted to enjoy some dining experiences on our adults-only trip that we can’t replicate at home. I think we were successful in meeting our goals, and I’m excited to share a few of… Read the Rest.

Review: Park Hyatt Zurich and a Few Hours in Switzerland

On the Star MegaDo 4 we had the opportunity to stay for one night at the Park Hyatt Zurich. It was the only one of the hotels on the Do that was “optional” due to the pretty hefty price tag that came with the reservation. However, at the launch party I immediately pulled out my laptop and reserved a room on points within seconds of the date/location being announced. And… Read the Rest.

Small Business Saturday Quadruple Win

Update: All of my confirmation emails have now been delivered, including for authorized users and my Citibank issued Amex.  Woohoo! ThanksgivingThursdayBlackFridaySmallBizSaturday has become one long and seemingly never-ending blur in my house, but it has been a very good blur…with lots of coffee involved.  Thankfully the little one can’t have coffee, so she is currently crashed at my feet.  Literally. Today prior to the “crash”, we headed out for brunch… Read the Rest.

Today I saw an offer on the United website that was higher than the regular offer for joining the United MileagePlus Dining program.  The offer was for 1,500 United miles for joining the United MileagePlus Dining program and spending at least $50 (including tax and tip) at a participating restaurant within 30 days or registering (but no later than 12/31/12) and then completing an online review.  The offer does state… Read the Rest.

Chase Ink Bold: One Month Review (3.55 UR points per dollar)

My first statement for my New Ink Bold business card recently closed.  In my own weird sick world, that is actually really exciting.  For the first time I could see the 5x bonus categories of telecommunications and office supplies at work.  Since I am trying to meet my $5000 minimum spending requirement, I put the majority of my expenses on this card for the month.  In total, my family charged… Read the Rest.

Today’s Lessons Learned in the Miles and Points World + $100 United Credit Winner

I learned a few lessons today in the miles and points world that I wanted to share so you can avoid the mistakes I made. I guess in truth they weren’t really lessons learned so much as just good reminders for things I already knew.  Also, I will announce the winner of the $100 United credit! 1. If you think you might want extremely inexpensive airport lounge access via the… Read the Rest.

Growing List of Eligible Hyatt Hotels for Earning Points for Dining and Spa Services (without being a registered guest)

A little while back Hyatt announced that they would allow Hyatt Gold Passport members to earn points for dining and spa services at Hyatt hotels even when they are not registered guests.  This is a great way to pick up some easy points when you are visiting a restaurant or spa at a Hyatt hotel when you aren’t staying there.  This could be very handy in the event that you… Read the Rest.
