Hyatt Andaz Maui Wailea Accepting Reservations Starting July 29th

Like many of you, I have been keeping close tabs on the Andaz Maui Wailea for quite some time.  A little while back they opened reservations for stays starting mid-September, but it was anticipated they would be open before that this summer.  The good news is that they are now accepting reservations for stays starting on July 29th! Disney World in a Weekend: Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Orlando (Part 2)

Back in March we met up with another family to hang out at Disney World for the weekend. We decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando and wanted to share our thoughts since it is a property that many traveling families will likely consider when heading to Disney. In Part 1 of the review I covered the room, an overview of the property, their transportation… Read the Rest.

Marriott Improves Elite Breakfast Benefit

One of the ways to my heart is absolutely through my stomach, so part of my devotion to Hyatt’s elite status program is due to the generosity of their breakfast benefit. If you have Diamond status, it is full breakfast for every registered guest in the room if there is no lounge open. With some hotels this even means almost unlimited room service breakfast. It is a tremendous benefit for… Read the Rest.

Use PointsHound to Earn Bonus Miles + Elite Status Credit on Hotel Stays

There have been a few hotel booking sites that award bonus miles for bookings appear on the scene in the last year or so.  I have mentioned a few of them from time to time, but I have not actually used one myself as I don’t like booking my hotel stays via a third party site since I don’t want to risk not earning hotel points and credit toward elite… Read the Rest.

Disney World in a Weekend: Hyatt Regeny Grand Cypress in Orlando (Part 1)

One of the biggest perks from being an active member in the frequent flyer community has been the friendships I have made along the way. As luck would have it, many of those friendships are with other traveling families. After having hung out (sans kids) at various MegaDos and similar events with a core group of people, a few of us decided it was time to plan a joint family… Read the Rest.

Fantastic Amenity for Moms at Hard Rock Chicago!

Today I was reading Baby Rabies, one of my very favorite parent/mom/family blogs (outside of the travel world), and I read a post that made me very excited.  Apparently the Hard Rock Chicago has introduced a “Nursing Mothers Amenity Program” in order to meet the needs of moms who are breastfeeding or ‘pumping’ while traveling.  If you have ever been a nursing/pumping mom who has had to hit the road,… Read the Rest.

Sometimes the World is Small

Sometimes I feel like the world is big.  Sometimes it feels small.  Sometimes the world is wonderful beyond words, and sometimes it is sad, scary, and tragic.  I think for most of us in the miles and points world it felt pretty small yesterday when we learned about the bombs in Boston.  Many of us have friends and family scattered around not just the country, but the world.  Naturally we… Read the Rest.
