Hyatt Lost Pines Delivers Again (Even Though the Resort Was Empty!)

I posted a few pictures of the Hyatt Lost Pines earlier this week.  I pointed out in that post that we basically had the resort to ourselves, and that trend continued for the duration of our three day/two night stay.  Going in the middle of the week just before summer break was the perfect way to have great weather, affordable rates, and enjoy the resort without any crowds.  There were… Read the Rest.

How To Have a Hyatt Resort All To Yourself

In order to have a Hyatt (or presumably any other) resort all to yourself, just tag along on a work trip that your spouse has in the middle of the week in May.  In about three weeks this resort will be filled to the brim with families on summer break.  But today, it is all ours.  If you like some quiet and have the ability to travel “off-season”, you can… Read the Rest.

Daily Getaways Day 23 (Wednesday): Hyatt Points!

For many folks, tomorrow’s (Wednesday) Daily Getaway deal will be the last “big” deal of the promotion for the year….it’s a good one.  It is for one of my favorite types of hotel points – Hyatt Gold Passport points.  This deal is pretty straightforward as the best use of these points isn’t to transfer them to any airline, or use for some single obscure hotel located far, far away, it… Read the Rest.

Comparing Summer 2012 Hotel Promotions

Now that the major players in the hotel chain world have officially announced their summer promotions, it is time to see how they stack up.  If you are like me and often have the freedom to choose which hotel chain to use on any given trip, then maximizing promotions is just part of the game.  Clearly some promotions will be better than others depending on individual travel patterns, needs, wants,… Read the Rest.

New Hyatt Promo – Up to 5x Airline Miles

The new Hyatt promo has been released from the “vault of secrets” and it is a promo that awards……. airline miles?!  Okay, it’s certainly not unheard of, but I do laugh a bit that the hotel promo is to award bonus airline miles.  That said, there is some value in this promo if your stay patterns often include short, inexpensive Hyatt stays, and you would like to stock up on… Read the Rest.

Hyatt 48 Hour Sale Ends Tonight (4/18)

These (monthly?) Hyatt 48 hour sales are always interesting to me since I enjoy many Hyatt hotels, and the discounts with this deal are sometimes better than the AAA or other similar discounts available.  Of course, they come with a no “full non-refundable prepayment requirement” at time of booking, but as long as that is okay for your plans, then it can be a good way to save a few… Read the Rest.

Trip Review: Grand Hyatt San Francisco

On my quasi-mileage run to San Francisco yesterday, I debated a fair amount on where to stay.  If this really were a real mileage run I either would have done a same-day turn and headed back home without a hotel stay, or would have likely stayed in a hotel much closer to the airport.  However, I really wanted to see at least a little bit of the city while I… Read the Rest.

Credit Card Bonuses and Benefits Update (Mostly All Good News!)

The Chase Sapphire bonus going down isn’t the only news in the credit card miles and points world today.  There are a few more pieces of info that I want to make sure and share…..all of which are good news! There is once again a 30,000 point sign-up offer for the Chase Freedom card!  This bonus seems to fluctuate between 20,000, 25,000 and 30,000 points, but I am happy to… Read the Rest.

Booking US Airways Envoy Suites to Europe for 55,000 Miles

Today is the day that the months of playing the US Airways Grand Slam last fall paid off.  Well, at least one of the days, I suppose the days we are on are trip are really when they will pay off, but securing the award availability you want is pretty exciting by itself.  I played the Grand Slam with a specific goal in mind – two tickets in US Airways… Read the Rest.

Hyatt 48 Hour Sale Returns: Through 3/28

The Hyatt 48 Hour Sale makes its return for the next two days.  As always, there are drawbacks to this promotions – namely that the reservations require prepayment and are non-refundable. A little rest and relaxation can go a long way, but the opportunity to save at Hyatt hotels and resorts, Park Hyatt and Andaz hotels in the U.S., Canada, and Caribbean is only valid through 11:59 PM Wednesday March… Read the Rest.
