I’ll admit, I was a “young renter” not that long ago and car rental surcharges of roughly $25/day for drivers 21-24 can really add up on vacation. I’m afraid to tell you what it cost to rent a car for our wedding a few years ago since I still cringe from that bill!
Luckily, Hertz has shared a coupon code for young renters in celebration that now licensed drivers as young as 20 years of age can rent a car. Just include PC #144314 in your reservation for pick-up on or before June 30. This promotional coupon will most likely not stack with other discounts (though it’s worth a try), but given the significant cost of the young renter surcharge, my guess is this discount will highly outweigh any other discounts.
Note that the Hertz website mentions the young renter fee may appear on your reservation confirmation, but will be deducted at time of rental.

I was fishing around for those while I was planning a doomed trip to Calabria but the rental cars themselves were too expensive on Hertz.
It really is amazing how much they charge young drivers.
Luckily I turned 25 and never had to rent a car.

@The Travel Abstract, I agree it can be preposterous! Most of the time I was able to get away with it by using Priceline to book my rentals (Name Your Own Price rentals include ALL taxes and fees) but of course that requires a prepaid, nonrefundable reservation.

While true and advertised like all Hertz promotions including the AAA 2nd driver free, training across Hertz locations is extraordinarily poor and even though it’s included in your reservation, you show up with a print out etc., I have spent hours with them insisting this is not the case and they refused for a long time to call their own 800 # support for the answer until they finally relent. I would never set an arrival time for anything after 5pm if you have to use promo for anything other than simple price discounts. I hope everyone is luckier than I’ve been in this regard.

@Taylor O, I’ve never had an issue with Hertz not honoring promotions/discounts, but to be fair, I’ve only rented with them a handful of times. I have no loyalty with car programs and jump around for the best rate.
