A Recap of Current Hotel Promotions

As of November 1, all major hotel chains’ 4th quarter promotions are finally in full swing (Hilton was a straggler this time around).  It can be tough to remember all of the possible hotel bonuses, especially if you’re trying to make a new reservation long after the promotion was originally announced.  If you’re also trying to determine which promotions might be most valuable for you this fall, check out this recap and head to my original posts for more information.

Hilton
The Main Promo: 1000 bonus points per night (excluding Tuesday/Wednesday nights)
Runs Through: December 31, 2012
Even More Bonus Points? Change your double dip preference to airline miles for 1000+ Virgin Atlantic miles on every stay or 1000+ bonus Avios on your first stay
Fine Print: Lots of non-participating hotels

Hyatt
The Main Promo: 5,000 bonus points after 5 stays and increasing bonuses for a maximum 65,000 points after 35 stays
Runs Through: November 30, 2012
Even More Bonus Points? None that I know of
Fine Print: Registration closed October 31 (hope you registered already!) and no bonus points if you stay less than five times

Marriott
The Main Promo:  Targeted offers which vary by member, most commonly being MegaBonus (2 stays = 1 free night at a Category 1-4 hotel)
Runs Through: January 15, 2013
Even More Bonus Points: Pay for your stays using Marriott gift cards, which you can earn airline miles by purchasing
Fine Print: Registration closed October 31; maximum earnings capped out at 2-3 free night certificates (varies by member)

Priority Club
The Main Promo: “Stay X Nights, Earn Y Points“, starting with 5,000 points for 3 nights and maxing out at 15,000 points for 15 nights
Runs Through: December 31, 2012
Even More Bonus Points: You’ll find a ton Priority Club offers, many of which most members are eligible to register for (some are targeted) for an easy bonus 5K+ points per stay
Fine Print: None on the main promo, some are targeted on additional offers

Starwood
The Main Promo: Better by the Night, for double points on 1-2 night stays or triple points on stays of 3+ nights
Runs Through: December 20, 2012
Even More Bonus Points: Earn 500 points for making a reservation through your Apple/Android app (250 points for booking directly online) and 250 points for checking in on Foursquare during your eligible stay
Fine Print: Some non-participating hotels, so check before booking
