Black Friday and Cyber Monday are starting early this year, with discounts already available online for participating Starwood Hotels.

Participating properties in North & Latin America only are offering discounts of 10-33% for weekend stays (Thursday-Saturday arrival) at hotel or all week long at resort properties.  Bookings, including nonrefundable advance prepayments, must be made by November 30 for stays through March 31, 2013.  Include code CYBERLTO on your booking to receive the discount.  As a bonus, Starwood will also make a small donation to UNICEF for each booking made through this promotion.

Unfortunately, the amount of properties participating is pretty low, but if you have firm plans for travel in North, Central, or South America this winter, it might be worth checking the rates to see if you can get a good discount.  While 10% off for a prepaid reservation is fairly standard, in some cases, locking yourself into a nonrefundable rate might make sense, especially at properties offering closer to 25-33% off.  Be sure to take advantage of bonus points if your stay will overlap with qualifying dates in the Better by the Night promotion.

Look for more offers (hopefully more lucrative ones!) on Monday, when Starwood opens up it’s “Five Days to Get Away” promotion.

I have been following California rates closely the past couple of weeks. I checked six hotels and only found one with a lower rate than I have been seeing lately.

Westin Market Street San Francisco showed $125 when rates lately have been $140 for dates I was watching.

But this hotel has most consistently been available for Best Rate Guarantee claim with OTA rate at $119.
