Instead of introducing co-pays in July, United will now only roll them out on January 12, 2010. Obviously they didn’t have all their ducks in a row, which is pretty sad given how long they’ve had. The one HUGE gain (not for me personally, but in general) is that “Z” fares are now upgradeable. These are the heavily discounted business class fares, so with a $500 co-pay they can now be upgraded internationally.
