Nicholas Kralev, who writes the “On the Fly” column for the Washington Times, has a great article about his recent flight with Captain Denny Flanagan. Definitely worth a read (and all of it is 100% true)!

Nice.
Denny mentioned on Saturday that he had spoken with Nicholas.
The fact that I was willing to take a 6am flight to fly with him yesterday says a lot.
Wow! Amazing. If airline employees had a quarter of Cap’n Denny’s customer service ability and passion, what a wonderful world it would be.
Fortunately, the one time I flew with Capt Denny (unintentionally, I might add), I was upgraded to F. Recognized him by his name tag, said a quick hello and that I was pleased he was the capt of his flight. He asked if I was a flyertalker (yes!). Before takeoff, he brought me a copy of the Age of Flight. Received the requisite business card with the note en route. Great pilot, and an even better man.
