Don’t worry about getting premium seats. Just make sure that you have enough time to book your flight in advance with the milage. It only took me a week to get the biz seat with Delta Milage. You just need to be patient.

I just flew in F LAX-NRT on SQ booked with Virgin miles, 130,000 miles and 180 USD in taxes. Not too bad and all booked 5 days before the flight. I guess I got lucky.
