The architecture is definitely TIbetan Buddhist, so it has to be somewhere in the Himalayas on the Tibetan Plateau (China, Nepal, Bhutan, etc.)

Been to Gandan, doesn’t look like it to me. The vegetation is quite strange for Tibet, so I think a reasonable guess would be northern india; my guess would have been Ladakh, as someone said above, but I couldn’t name the exact place.

sorry for the confusion. its the Phyang Monastery, about 30mins away from Leh in the Ladakh valley in Jammu & Kashmir, India. So josh was right.
