I posted back in November about the most amazing credit card sign up bonus ever, specifically the British Airways Visa, which offered 50,000 miles after the first purchase and another 50,000 miles after spending $2,000 in the first three months.

While the offer was dead for a while, it seems like it’s active again. You should be able to apply for the card with the 100,000 mile bonus here.

is there a list of BA’s oneworld award rates somewhere? With the ridiculous fuel surcharges on BA flights that would seem to be the best way to use them. Will 100k get me JL/CX J to asia?

whako, i cannot find an award chart anywhere either…if anyone knows, please post a link…i’m looking for a us-originating trip to SCL and want to know what the 100k miles on BA will get me, but i honestly have no idea what 100k miles on BA going USA-south america will cost….

to answer my own question, it appears that 100k is enough for North America – Far East in J (stopover allowed). This is a crazy deal-Im definitely in.

Andrew: the single-partner chart from north america is here:
    http://www.britishairways.com/travel/partnertable/public/en_gb
Note thats single partner only (ie all lan or all AA)- their multi-partner awards appear to be distance based-see:
    http://www.britishairways.com/travel/multicarrier/public/en_gb
Not sure how they measure that though-one way start to end including stopovers would be my guess but Im a oneworld newbie

@whakojacko – I think you’ve answered my question as well (with regards to using the promo points for non-transatlantic award travel).

Does BA Exec Club allow points transfers between accounts (similar to QF Family Transfers)?

This is a great find, thanks Lucky!

But as I postulate on my blog, I’d be careful when applying for this. If your credit score isn’t high enough, or for any other reason they wish, they can automatically approve you with a lesser card which won’t carry this offer. That card may have a fee and you may not be able to decline it before having it sent to you and being charged. Caveat Emptor!

I’m probably going to apply for this – Jay I read your blog, and thanks for the warning on the fees – But is it an annual fee of $75 or a monthly fee of $75?

Update: Just got approved,CL only 5k go figure CHASE… I was expecting atleast 10 or 15k. Well atleast I’m getting the miles and prestigious visa signature status which mean nothing to me.

    Adrienne, it’s $75 annually.

Looks like the deal is dead now though.
