Alaska Mileage Plan is offering “Oregonians and residents of Southwest Washington” 5,000 miles just for joining Mileage Plan. They’re offering an extra 20,000 miles for making one qualifying roundtrip (any ticket flying from, to, or connecting in Portland that isn’t a “Hot Deal” fare) between February 15 and April 1.
Very tempting! Add that to an Alaska Visa and a status match, and it could be the start of a nice relationship.

An Alaska MP membership along with a UA or CO membership complement each other well. With all the partners Alaska has…pretty much just credit your non-Star Alliance flights (DL,AA,AF,BA,and others) to Alaska and the rest on one’s CO or UA. That’s a nice way to combine a lot of different carriers onto 2 diff accounts.
