To celebrate their new partnership, you can earn 5,000 bmi miles per stay at a Wyndham Rewards property through February 28. You can earn this bonus a maximum of four times. No registration is required, just select bmi miles as your earnings preference.

And for those of you that say “huh? in response to “Wyndham Rewards” like I do, we’re talking about some really cheap hotels — Days Inn, Knights Inn, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, Microtel, etc. It should be easy to book stays at any of those hotels for under $50/night. Not sure I’d actually want to stay at most of those, but might be worth showing up just to check-in for the miles….

Too bad I’m not in the USA until this April… Should be an easy 20.000 miles!

Thanks for pointing the lower-tier hotels out. I saw this promotion, and blew it off, since I don’t tend to stay in Wyndhams. Being able to rack up the points in a Days Inn or something is very impressive. (With the new UA one-way awards, though, my bmi miles are worth slightly less to me.)

Not all Wyndhams post properly. Last summer they had a 3-stay 10,000 bonus mile promotion. One of my stays posted right away, the other two only after I had written to them, and the 10,000 bonus still hasn’t posted despite me writing to them multiple times.

This much said, I have a Travelodge stay in a week. I was thinking of charging it to United to get my account to 12,500 (after which I’ll stop collecting), but perhaps BMI makes more sense now.

While a lot of the Wyndham Rewards hotels are on the, how shall I put it, basic side, their relatively new brand “Wingate by Wyndham” is comparable to a Hampton Inn or similar, but at better rates – I stayed in one last month in Bradenton and was pleasantly surprised.

They also have the Wyndham and Wyndham Grand Collection upscale hotels, and Ramada, although I find Ramadas something of a crapshoot…one of the worst hotels I ever stayed in was the (now thankfully closed) Ramada at JFK.

I didn’t know the Microtel brand was still around!

One of my regular airport motels is most times <$40 all in. I was considering Pricelining something for $45ish++, but for an easy 5k BD, I booked the Travelodge.
