Seemingly matching United, American is offering discounted shorthaul awards for bookings made by August 31 for travel through December 15. At 17,500 miles roundtrip or 8,750 miles one way, this is a 30% discount.

    This is so great for me…I need to book a 1-way award SFO-SBA. A one-way ticket would be $190 with a stop or $350 ns, so 8750 miles for a non-stop flight is fantastic.
