Clearly someone loves Lufthansa more than I do…

Till today I thought I was Lufthansa’s biggest fan. Sadly I’ll have to hand over that title to this lady, I think, who seems to show up frequently for the Lufthansa landing in Charlotte, to perform her, erm, ritual:

Apparently I've read somewhere that she only turns up for the A340's and not the A330's, but she's seen worshipping an A330 in one of the above videos..

But please do, I'm actually dying to know!

  2. Sam Guest

Well I won't be back in Charlotte until next week, but I'll see if I can find her and see what's going on. In any of the comments, does it say when/how often she is there?

  3. lucky OMAAT

@ John -- Saw that as well and while it could be true, much like Foivos I highly doubt it. Don't think one random comment on a YouTube video where the airline's name isn't even spelled right is the "answer" to her deal. It has been nearly 40 years since a major Lufthansa crash, and she doesn't look old enough to have a son that would have died on that.

But I would be curious to know what the story is, that's for sure...

@John I suppose not impossible, but the last LH accident involving several passenger fatalities was in 1974...

According to a comment on that video, her son was killed on a Lufthansa flight. Since then, she prays the plane in and out while crying as if she is reliving the tragedy again.

Lucky, when I saw your caption referring to some lady 'worshipping' LH, I asked myself, what were you up to? Well, after picking up my jaw, my vote goes to the proponents of getting her to FRA with you and then reading THAT trip report, totally!

Actually I think she has quite a nice voice!

Oh man, I'd second a trip report with this woman! I'd hunt her down for you in a heartbeat if I was on a CLT mileage run sometime soon

    Hi Sam,

Sorry, I should have clarified that I was more asking about the choice of aircraft, as I was wondering why they would run such a large and long-range plane on that route.

  11. Sam Guest

@Lucky I live in Charlotte and would love to go get her info for you!

@Coutureguy There are a ton of German businesses such as Daimler and Seimens in and around Charlotte (http://charlotteusa.com/business-info/international-business/germany/) along with BMW not far away. Also, it makes a good Star Alliance connection point for onward domestic legs.

  12. Sanjeev M Guest

Right now the MUC-CLT flight on LH does well cause of BMW corporate contracts (their main plant is in Greenville, SC) and massive connection opportunities onto US Airways vast domestic network from CLT.

With US/AA to oneworld, speculation wonders what LH will do. Maybe the market is mature enough to keep it. Maybe LH will move it to FRA. Maybe a downguage to A332. Hopefully not a total cancellation.

  13. Coutureguy Guest

Besides the woman, another thing that seems strange is that Lufthansa would run a 340 to CLT. Curious as to why... Cargo reasons?

  14. ABC Guest

    @Lucky,
"If anyone has her contact info, I’d totally do it."
Pretty obvious where she hangs out. Just visit her next time you pass through CLT.

  15. Serendipity Guest

Definitely, life changing event might have happened on that plane. A lost soul waiting to get united!

I resent all of these slanderous statements about my wife. She was only practicing her singing outdoors before going to the LU!

  17. Rich Guest

Someone who lives in Charlotte please go get her contact info and give it to Lucky. I would give my left arm to read that trip report.

I can see the news article now ... "A Lufthansa flight was forced to make an emergency landing after an unruly passenger refused to stop worshiping the plane..."

Now the tune is stuck in my head!!!

@ Antonio -- Hahahahaha. If anyone has her contact info, I'd totally do it.

  20. Antonio Guest

Lucky, you should totally sponsor her and go on a trip together on LH F to the F Terminal. BEST TRIP REPORT EVER!!!!!

  21. Thomas Guest

I remember at some point you said you've wanted to become a permanent resident at the Lufthansa First Class Terminal, Ben? That'd make you a proper LH fan, one step above that lady.

    that's the best paganism

does she pray towards FRA airport 5 times a day too ?

  23. Jorg Guest

I have to agree with you, Gwayrab... And Lucky: you've been beaten for sure. Wonder what you'll do to fix this ;)

  24. Roland Guest

I wonder how she's gonna cope with the merger...
