No pun intended in the title. ;)

How awesome is this? A grown man giggles uncontrollably, and it actually has to do with the airline industry.

Many of you may have heard of the French actor that decided to urinate in the cabin on a CityJet flight to Dublin on Tuesday. Well, this made Anderson Cooper’s “Ridiculist,” which was filled with puns. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) he just couldn’t hold it in. Check it out:

Last night I saw a pretty cool “Day in the Life of Richard Branson” show on Hulu. The reason I figured I’d share it here is because it takes place mostly at Heathrow Airport, on Virgin Atlantic planes, and at the Chicago launch for Virgin America.

Anyway, check it out (if you’re in the US, since I don’t believe Hulu can be broadcast outside the US). He seems like a pretty good guy!

Taiwanese Next Media Animation makes some of the funniest airline industry spoof videos, covering everything from the air traffic controller falling sleep a while back to the TSA’s full body scanners.

Check out their latest video about the Wall Street Journal ranking Newark as the worst airport:

Hilarious!

A reader sent along a link to a YouTube channel for a guy that makes videos of his flights. The reader suggested this was downright creepy, so I couldn’t help but take a look. Now, there are a few people that seem to make video trip reports and I really enjoy them. This particular person, however, has a lot more video of the actual crew interactions, which on one hand is cool, but on the other hand I can definitely see why someone might find this creepy. And this is coming from the guy that takes 100 pictures per flight. ;)

For example, check out this Emirates video he made:

The walk to the lounge, his walk through the galley, the interactions with the crew during meal service — cool or creepy?

And I’m not meaning to pick on this guy here, because he seems really nice and I assume the crew could “opt out” if they wanted to. Then again, Emirates is the airline that requires their flight attendants to accept business cards or phone numbers from passengers…

Lufthansa Technik has put together a video of what a VIP configured Airbus 380 would look like:

They must have a lot of spare time on their hands, because I can’t imagine they’ll sell many of these.

Very cool nonetheless!

Via Frequently Flying, SpiceJet (a “premium” low cost carrier in India) has a pretty funny/”cute” commercial out right now:

Not sure what I like about it so much, but I’ve watched it about ten times now. Either it’s that good or I need to find a new hobby… probably the latter.

Two guys found themselves stranded overnight at Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport and decided to make a video commemorating the evening, which they uploaded here a few days ago.

In the video they’re pictured playing around in wheelchairs, beat boxing on the mic at gates, and even pouring themselves a beer at one of the restaurants. This has caused a huge uproar regarding “security,” given that they went about their activities all night without anyone stopping them.

First of all I have to say that I thought the video was incredibly well done given that it seemed to be a spur of the moment video (content aside). For the most part I think it’s hilarious, though I’m not sure how smart it is to post a video of you “stealing” a beer from a restaurant by gaining entry into their kitchen without permission.

The only thing that potentially concerns me about “security” in this instance is whether or not they may have had access to sharp knives in the kitchen of the restaurant. Other than that, they were already screened for security, so I don’t see any safety concern. Still, you’d think that airport security would tell them to knock it off.

What are your thoughts? Hilarious? Pathetic? A safety concern? No big deal?

What can I say, I’m a sucker for any fairly well produced promotional airline video. Check out the video that British Airways just released highlighting their new first class experience:

Best of all, it’s accurate. She spends about 25% of the video walking through Heathrow Airport, which, on a 10 hour transatlantic journey, seems like correct time allocation (on a good day). ;)

Need I say more?

Hopefully someone checked the gear after that landing…

(Tip of the hat to Abdul)

Jeff Smisek, United’s CEO, sat down for an interview recently with Geoff Colvin about his career progression and role at United. He claims he actually reads all of the emails he receives (and even gives out his email address – not that it’s all that tough to figure out – and encourages people to email him).

He does seem pretty level headed…
