I think this is absolutely ridiculous. Just because you make an ass of yourself, then are embarassed because you get kicked off a flight, doesn't mean it is a legitimate reason to accuse anyone of racism. I am sure she was just humiliated because she didn't get the "star" treatment that she thought she deserved. Did she ever take a moment to think that maybe it had nothing to do with color, but more about her nasty attitude? I'm sure a white person giving the same attitude to the attendant would have received the same exact treatment. I would guarantee that she is not the first person to get kicked off a plane, and I would also bet that every person kicked off a plane was not black. I saw her in an interview and her character and personality were embarassing. Suck up the fact that you made an ass of yourself and get over it!

I think it's a shame that you spend all that
money to fly and you get treated that way. And it has happened to a lot of us, so Mo'Nique is right she has a voice and she's going to use it. She said this morning on the radio that she got Al Sharpton on the phone so he could hear what was going on over the phone which I think was the right thing to do! I think the United staff heard that she was a difficult client and so they decided to " Test the S on her chest" so to speak. It was not right, poor customer service on United part and I hope an example is made out of them. I don't blame Mo'Nique for referring them directly to her lawyer. When she tried talking to them they didn't want to hear her, now they're trying to back pedal.

Ah, so true. I flew Untied for the first time in ten years, out of SNA to SFO, a week ago.

There was exactly one agent to every seven "self-service" counters. Not one person seemed to have been able to check in successfully with the machines--probably because we were all trying to catch a flight that left in 40 mintues, but whadda know, United now requires bags be checked in 45 minutes beforehand. So what happens? The machine tries to sell you a ticket on another flight.

The most help provided by the agent: she chastized one customer for screamed "EFFFFFFF!" at the machine.

Yep, yep, those United managers REALLY deserve those endless options. Meanwhile, next time I think I'll fly B6 from LGB to OAK for less money, and they'll have a real human being check in my bag in less time than it took to get the self-service machine to read my credit card.
