Reserve by July 15 and travel by August 24, and you can get a flight to Ireland from New York and 3 days’ rental car for $777 (plus about $150 or so in taxes). Given that flights during that period are more than $1,000, this is quite a bargain. Other departure cities are available for a small upcharge.
British Airways Club World to London, $2035 Round Trip (Taxes Included)July 03 2008
British Airways is having a great sale on their Club World business class from New York to London: They’re calling it a $1776 round trip fare, but with taxes and whatnot, it’ll cost you $2035 - quite a bargain for a lie-flat seat. Other airlines have a similar deal in the summer months, but this is good through the end of the year. Book by July 6.
Spirit: Guess the President, Get a Free Flight (Pretty Much)June 10 2008
Say what you will about Spirit, their marketing has been really clever. They announced a deal today where if you guess who will win the election in November, they’ll give you a free flight. Basically. The longer version is if you buy a ticket for a bunch of dates between now and February, and if you choose the president correctly, they’ll refund you the price of the ticket. Next March.
You will also be betting about whether Spirit will be in the position to write you a check next March, but that’s neither here nor there. Details in the above link…

Travel is only good on Air Tahiti Nui, and connecting travel on American Airlines is not permitted — it’s just for the Air Tahiti Nui portion. Yes, it’s about 16 hours with a stop in Los Angeles.
