As I write this, I’m on my way to Sydney, Australia. I left my home in Orlando on Monday, spent four days with a client in Houston and am now in mid-air for the beginning of a 26-hour journey. Nothing crazy about that so far, is there?
What’s crazy is that I’ll be in Read more of this article »

According to Starzlife, Paris has done everything that she’s wanted to do and is ready to get into something new. Following in great-granddad’s footsteps, she’s interested in real estate and perhaps her own hotel chain. I wonder if she’ll partner up with high school classmate Lady Gaga in this new business venture. Now wouldn’t that be an interesting hotel chain?

Most traveling women complain about gaining weight when traveling, challenges of finding healthy food, and finding the time to exercise with a busy schedule. To see if it is possible to find healthy food choices in restaurants, airports and hotels, I am keeping a healthy eating journal at http://www.smartwomentravelers.com/category/health-fitness-on-the-road/healthy-eating-journal.
Post a comment with your healthy eating suggestions. I’d really like to hear where to find restaurants that serve organic foods.

Pluto never had it so good: The next major attraction to open at Walt Disney World won’t be for the kids — it will be for the dogs.

I’m always excited to find a hotel that caters to women travelers. So I am drooling reading the offerings at Kimpton Hotels.

Their Women InTouch program, led by Chief Operating Officer Niki Leondakis, offers:
- Hosted evening wine hour – for both men and women guests.
- In room spa services – how perfect to enjoy a massage and facial after a long day of work!
- A complimentary tote bag that contains everything you need for yoga, core strengthening and/or meditation. You’ll find instructions and inspiration on Kimpton’s 24-hour yoga channel.
- Unique (very!) honor bars – each hotel offers a different selection. You won’t find too many salty snacks, but you’ll find an Etch-a-Sketch, Silly Putty, Astronaut Ice Cream, Clif Bars, candy necklaces all in addition to organic food and beverage options.
- Pet friendly (with Pet Packages and a Director of Pet Relations!)

Some women collect shoes … some women collect purses. I collect lots of laptop bags. I’ve got several from Franklin Covey (from when they had a local store where I could touch and feel a bag before I bought it), Briggs & Riley, Coach and others. I’ve got red bags, pink bags, black bags and white bags (I sound like a Dr. Suess title!), small bags, large bags, shoulder bags, wheeled bags. You name it, I’ve tried it. Only my friend Tamara is worse! I’ll use a bag for several weeks or months before boredom sets in; Tamara rotates to a different bag on a weekly basis. I’ve got bags that are best for short travels, other bags for long international trips because they hold more ‘stuff’.

My husband is off on an international trip this week. I’m working from my home office. Usually it’s me on the road. Actually, this is my first full week home in almost ten months. I’m always on the road.
This week, the roles are reversed. I’m the one doing the laundry, making the bed, taking out the garbage, walking the dog, watering the plants, saying hello to the UPS man …
