You Spent How Many SPG Points for a Coldplay Meet & Greet?

by Adam

Tonight we are off to see Coldplay in Philadelphia as part of the SPG Moments experience package.  The package includes front row tickets, a meet and greet with the band, appetizers / drinks, and a photo opportunity.   Just thinking about the amount and value of points we spent definitely pains me, though I’ll reserve any judgements until after the concert and provide a full cost benefit analysis against staying at one of my favorite SPG properties.  It does make me feel better that we won our auction for much fewer points than most others.  Truth be told, this is my first time redeeming points (airline, hotel, credit card, etc.) not for a free flight, upgrade, or room!  For those of you unfamiliar with SPG Moments, “Moments is an exclusive program for members of SPG® in which hard-earned Starpoints® can be transformed into one-of-a-kind experiences. SPG is your ticket to the ultimate in music, sports and the arts, through Moments you’ll find access like no other”.

We’ll be staying at the Le Meridien Philadelphia so also look out for a trip report on the property later in the week.

I’ll send Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow (rumored to be attending tonight), and the rest of the band BoardingArea’s regards.

Any great restaurant recommendations for Philly?

If you’re staying at the Le Meridien, then you’re not too far from Pumpkin – which I highly recommend! http://pumpkinphilly.com/

Be warned though, they are BYOB and cash only

Our favorite place in philly is Melograno. Not too far from your hotel at 20th and Sansom.

Pat’s and Geno’s get the publicity, but you want a cheesesteak from Jim’s on South St. or Dalessandro’s in Roxborough
