According to this news report, TSA has included a request in their FY 12 funding to perform “unannounced screenings” in conjunction with local law enforcement and ICE officials.  This effort is part of their VIPR program and is being employed at bus stops and even some trolleys.

So if you used to think you could avoid the “enhanced” patdown by not flying, think again.  Next time you get on that trolly or subway, you could be subject to the “enhanced” screening from a TSA agent.

I wonder how far this will go.

    As far as idiot Americans – both us and our politicians, who don’t care about their rights or the Constitution let it go. Oh, make us safer, war on terror, I don’t need my 4th Amendment…

    Ah, Nomad, read up on the recent Indiana law, saying you can’t deny a peace office entry to your home if the officer is doing his duty. Until someone fights this law (ever heard of the 4th Amendment?), TSA will be searching us right in our homes (in Indiana).
