AA 75k Miles For Citi Credit Card – Advice For Free Honeymoon Airline Tickets

I was playing golf with a friend this weekend and he asked me what I thought was the easiest way he can get to Europe in Business or coach for the lowest cost.  He and his fiance have 43k SkyPesos so they needed a lot of help to get to Europe next summer.

There are a few options, but the easiest one I mentioned was for he and his future bride to sign up for the American Airlines card from Citi. If they each sign up that will yield 75k miles per card per person.  Since you can each sign up for 2 credit cards (Business and Personnel), you’ll earn 150k per person in bonuses alone plus spend on the card.     Everything you need to know is in this Flyertalk post.  Once they have the AA miles the options are great for AA, Liberia, or BA flights across the Atlantic.

I recently took advantage of the personal card (already have the business card).  I spent the required amount in a few weeks between Lowes and Home Depot thanks to a home renovation.  The miles posted before I even received the statement in the mail.

Bottom Line
If you are planning your honeymoon next summer or are just in the market for premium airline tickets in the near future, the AA credit card deal is one of the cheapest (as long as you keep your credit in good standing) ways to get the desired award tickets.
What other options do you think would help my friend get 2 cost effective tickets to Europe next summer?

  1. Don’t forget Oneworld rewards. My wife and I flew JFK-YYZ-LHR-CDG-ORY-MAD-BCN-MAD-BOS-LGA for 80k each in business. We did stops in London, Paris, and Barcelona.

  2. Please also make mention that a person can receive both personals for a total of $5500 in spend. then get the business 65 days later (if it is still available).

  3. @ Gene, I just found a couple of coach and business seats to Europe next summer. Just have to be flexible with the destination and dates.

  4. Gary,
Try calling them at 1-888-201-4523 to ask for the 75k promotion between the hours of 9:00 am to 9:00 pm EST, Monday – Friday. I”m pretty sure they have stopped this promotion. I’ll work on getting the next best one up on my site soon.
