During recent trips to Montreal I was fortunate enough to stay at the W Montreal. The hotel is conveniently located to the city and Old Montreal. When I stayed at the W Montreal I was Platinum status in the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program. I have been a Platinum member in SPG for over 6 years now and enjoy the benefits. From upgrades, to bonus points, to the great platinum concierge(s) that I have travel booking relationships with:). The W Montreal went above and beyond to accommodate us on our trip.

The W Montreal hotel bellman were very helpful every single time we arrived or departed. They are the front line customer facing employees and they excelled at their job. Bags were always picked up from the car upon arrival and delivered back to the car when departing. Umbrella’s were always provided and taxi cab doors were always opened.

This is also where we met Joe, our Escalade driver that I mentioned in this post. Joe was friends with the bellman and quickly became our go to guy for seeing the city. He also took us to his friends local Lebanese restaurant on several occasions. If you need his contact information, just drop me an email. The checkin process was fun, especially since there were over 5 platinum members on our team and only 2 Wow suites up for grabs each week. Our Platinum team members were almost always upgraded to a suite including the Extreme Wow suites. Each day at check in someone from our team was bound to get the suite, so there was competition to get to the hotel early. I was fortunate enough to get each suite on 1 occasion.

One of the best parts about our rate was that we were given 1 drink certificate worth $20 at the Wunderbar for each night of our stay. So this benefit made for some fun late nights.

The W Montreal really takes care of their guests and especially Platinum SPG members. The Wunderbar is a great evening spot for night life. The hotel is conveniently located to the city and Old Montreal. It is conveniently located next to three of my top four favorite restaurants in Montreal 1) Barroco in Old Montreal, 2) Le Garde Manger in Old Montreal, and 3) L’Express on St-Denis but is not close to Joe Beef in West Montreal. I had a great experience here and can recommend this hotel to anyone. Leave a comment on this post if you have any specific questions about Montreal or this hotel. I’ll do my best to answer them as quickly as possible.

  1. Hi Andre – I knew an Andre once, back at the front desk of the W Montreal.

Thanks. I took the photos with an iPhone. I know, bad photos. I think it was because of the lighting. I bring an new Canon with me everywhere I go now. So picture quality should be improving since these old dark ages of the iPhone camera.
