Delta, it was nice to catch up today, even if only for a moment. I do think about your drinks and upgrades from time to time, so it was nice to see you are doing well with your new “nonstop.”

I appreciate your invite to the Sky Club even though I was flying away with AA later in the day. It was a bit awkward with AA watching us have a drink and all. But It was nice and reminded me of the many happy hours we’ve shared together in the Sky Clubs.

Very strong of you to offer access even when I was flying away with AA.

I hope the new “nonstop” works out. Either way, we should touch base in the future to see how that is working out for you.

Delta Sky Club Policy – Access Without Same Day Ticket

Delta has a great policy to allow Sky Club members access even when not flying with Delta. The Sky Club in Atlanta’s Terminal T offers a few cold snack options in the evening (that don’t compare to international options) as well as some toasted bagels and warm oatmeal in the morning. The best part is they have plenty of free and premium drinks, including liquor, at all hours of the day.

Bottom Line

If you have a Sky Club membership, make sure you keep your Sky Club card with you at all times when flying, even if you are on another carrier.

So, were you flying that MD-80?

  • Jason Ishibashi said,

Club access is club access. It’s great that an airline allows club access based on MEMBERSHIP without regard to the booked ticket. Glad you “enjoyed’ your stay at the Sky Club as “lacking” as you may feel it to be.

Hi Marshal – That was not my plane. Looking foward to their new deliveries though.

Hi Jason – I like the Sky Club, put in the note about ‘international lounge’ as that is a typical comment about US lounges. But the Sky Club is just fine by me.

Is there better food around dinner time in the E concourse if I wanted to change terminals and head down to that SC with membership card?

  • The Weekly Flyer said,

Hi Mr H – Not from my experiences. They used to have BE lounge with better food but those were phased out a while ago. Pretty much E has larger quantities of the same. They do have a big grab jug of Biscoffs available, so depending on how much you like them, the trip could be worth it.

I see delta ALL the time! ANd you are right. Their SWU SUCK and their upgrade policy internationally blow even more! URG! My BIGGEST complaint about the skyteam is the upgrades! But the lounge benefit is nice! Follow me and my delta/skyteam adventures and more at http://www.whendoublewidesfly.com – But only if you want to check out how those from the trailer park get their air on!

You should have seen the SLC club Monday. Ugg. Me thinks they need to build more or charge more:

This is the most packed club I have ever seen. I have been told they will halt entry once full but never ever seen this happen!
