How To Get Marriott Platinum Status After 9 Stays

Simply follow the few simple steps below and you’ll be on your way to Marriott Platinum status in only 9 stays.

I shared how members can receive Marriott Platinum status after only 9 stays back in September. In the past, I’ve only tried to keep Marriott Gold status since I love the standard club lounge access. But only 9 stays was too good to pass up. You’ll receive the following benefits as a Marriott Platinum member:

1) Room upgrades (also with Gold)

2) 50% bonus on points for stays

    • The bonus points with Marriott can add us fast

3) Free Internet Access (also with Gold)

    • Free internet access is great
    • Gold status also gets this benefit

4) Guaranteed room type (also with Gold)

    • Always receive your preferred room type
    • If they don’t have it, you’ll receive compensation
    • Gold status also gets this benefit

5) Guaranteed lounge access/breakfast (also with Gold)

    • Marriott lounges usually have consistent offerings in the morning
    • Gold status also gets this benefit

Bottom Line

A few moments of your time and you’ll be entered to win a Marriott Bed package. In addition, only 9 stays in a Marriott hotel and bed, will earn you Platinum status through February of 2014.

Is the Marriott platinum challenge a 1 time thing? If so, I would use discretion in using it now

  • Jenn said,

The link for the contest doesn’t appear to be working (tried it twice).

Hi Michael – I can personally attest to using it more than once in the last 4 years. But yes, if you don’t need it, don’t use it by all means.

    Hello Points, Miles & Martinis,

If I book 2 rooms for the same date (one for me and one for a co-worker), does that count as two stays toward my Platinum challenge?

    Thanks!

Hi Jenn – Fixed now, thanks.

You can do a gold or plat challenge only once in a year, so be sure you can complete it. it takes 12 nights for gold and 18 for platinum….i was unaware of the 9 stays alternative.
