With Valentin’e Day right around the corner, I have secured a nice little deal on flowers for Mrs. Weekly Flyer. It is important for me to set up the delivery early so that I don’t forget in case I’m traveling that week.
Here’s the deal
- Go through the Chase or AA portal to buy Groupon for FTD $20 for $40 at 2 x points per $
- Then, go through the AA portal to by your flowers at FTD which is offering 30x points/$
- Use your groupon to get $40 off and you should be able to get the 30x points on any amount over the $40!*
- *I haven’t confirmed the Groupon can be used going back through the portal yet, so if anyone has been able to confirm this please share a comment
Bottom Line
FTD has their Valentine’s day bouquets on special right now. You could get a gift and only have to pay for shipping/tax beyond your groupon.

i tried going through chase and it wouldnt let me complete it so i had to call and get it done…then Secure message chase and after some back and forth they finally gave me the points

For the Groupon Offers, they usually make you go through the Groupon page. Same thing with sales usually. Check out an email advert from them, then go through the miles portal. Chances are the prices are different, and if you add to cart and switch which site you are on, the price i the cart changes.
I did a Groupon for Sherrie’s Berries, and if I didn’t go through the Groupon page, I couldn’t add the “gift certificate”.

FTD doesn’t have the best prices (though cheaper than buying directly from local florists).
Another alternative is to simply go through an affiliate cb site with one of FTD’s competitors.
Unless, of course, there’s a unique arrangement at FTD that you can’t get elsewhere.
