Ever wish you could step outside on a sunny day during a layover at an airport? If you have, someone at Delta heard you and has come up with a new concept that will have you sipping a martini, plane spotting or just enjoying a sunny day outside. Delta just announced their new Sky Club Terrace concept and it will roll out to Atlanta and New York in the future. Delta is partnering with Architectural Digest and renowned designer Thom Filicia to create the first ever outdoor airport terrace.

Sky Club Terrace Concept

The Sky Club Terrace concept will roll out in New York’s JFK airports and Atlanta. New York’s JFK T 4 terminal will be the first one to open when the new T 4 terminal opens in May. The terrace in Atlanta will open near the current Sky Club in the International F terminal this summer.

It is great to see Delta continuing to innovate and make investments in Sky Clubs. What better way to spend a layover on a sunny day.

  • Andy said,

Great… the roar of engines and the smell of jet fuel to get me in the mood to fly.

Hmm I actually like this concept but I think it’s a bit foolish at JFK where our outdoor season isn’t particularly long and our real estate is particularly expensive.

  • Lee H said,

This looks like a fun place to chill out and wait for your next flight. I only hope there aren’t a lot of jet fuel fumes that would ruin the experience.
