There are so many good choices for points that it can truly make your head spin. Some of them require buying, and selling and banking and so much more. Sometimes you will have to hope your local store or bank will play along. Who has time for all this? The Weekly Flyer has a full time job and a family so I work to get bonus points where they are easy. Take for example the Chase Freedom card. Four times a year they have different bonus categorizes. Here they are for 2013:
You will want to make sure, if you have not yet done so, that you active your card to get the 5% bonus for this 1st quarter of 2013. You do that HERE at Chase if you already have your card. If you don’t have a Chase Freedom yet, consider the application links below where you can earn a $100 cash back bonus after spending $500 in purchases in the first 3 months of opening an account.
- Apply for the Chase Freedom® Visa
You will notice that one of the categories is Starbucks. If you are like me, you could spend say $500 a year on coffee. The other day we had a post up about combining gift cards you have from Starbucks. Why not get prepay your coffee for the year and in one stop pickup 5x bonus Ultimate rewards points in one simple stop!
The next just as simple thing to do is get 5% off gas for the year. Even with gas prices down a little as of late, why not get a $500 gas card and just use that over the next few months with a prepaid 5% discount on each gallon in your tank!
With those of you with little flyers, I am sure you could use up the last $500 at a local drug store or maybe take the extra step to buy some vanilla reloads!
While I am out of commission on bed rest for the next few days, please consider this post from our good friends at the Delta Points blog. Rene was kind enough to share some great tips with our readers while I am out of pocket. We’ll be back up to speed at 35,000 feet in no time. Thanks Rene.
Points, Miles & Martinis will earn a small referral credit for successful applications through the links in this post. As always we appreciate any support for the blog.
