Back in February, Delta announced their new partnership with Tumi and skincare product brand Malin+Goetz to upgrade the BusinessElite amenity kit.

In providing a service, it’s sometimes the small things that make a big difference. And Delta’s Vice President of in-flight Service apparently knows this saying applies to air travel as well.

“Delta continues to find new and innovative ways to differentiate the BusinessElite experience for our customers and the introduction of new amenities from Malin+Goetz and Tumi is a sophisticated way for us to enhance the time they spend with us in flight,” said Joanne Smith, Delta’s senior vice president of In-Flight Service. “These products are a unique, additional element to our BusinessElite experience, which includes full flat-bed seats, an industry-leading food and wine program, hours of digital entertainment options and premium pillows and quilted duvets.”

A good friend just jumped on a Delta A330 flight (with old style cradle BusinessElite seats) from Amsterdam after a few weeks jetting to and from Europe for business. The thing he first noticed about the flight? The new Tumi amenity kit.

I am on the A330 flight flight from Schiphol this morning. After a few trips to Europe it is the little things I notice.

New Delta Tumi Amenity Kit

Of course I asked how the food was and his response was again for the most part favorable.

First meal was a steak which was good. Second meal was a burger…so so. Fries were awful. Wine was, of course, good throughout.

The little things sometimes make an experience just a notch better, like a nice new Tumi Amenity kit in a BusinessElite seat on your way home after a long week.
