My favorite business travel bag is the 21 inch one-touch carry-on by Briggs & Riley. It is small enough to fit in tight spaces, but It is also expandable to carry extra items during long periods of travel. So when Briggs & Riley asked if I wanted to give away one free carry-on to Points, Miles & Martinis readers, of course I said yes. We get to share a personal story about our Briggs & Riley carry-on and give one lucky reader a carry-on of their choice from any Briggs & Riley collection.

My Personal Experience With Briggs & Riley Warranty

One of the reasons I love my Briggs & Riley is because they stand by their warranty. After three long years, my 21 inch one-touch carry-on finally gave in a little bit. One side of the handle wore down and would no longer lock in place. Considering the bag had it’s ups and downs going through an average of 50 weeks of travel per year over 3 years and included an average of 2 security checkpoints per week, 2 flights a week, 4 car drives a week and at least 2 shuttle rides per week. Needless to say it was well tested.

When the bag handle would no longer lock on one side, I simply looked up the nearest Briggs and Riley repair center, took the bag in, and explained I’d like it repaired from the lifetime warranty.

  1. It’s gotta be #6, the all inclusive warranty. I can only imagine how many times in the past this could have been put to good use.

  2. I like “covers all collections” nice to know that I can buy any B&R bag and get the same coverage unlike some other luggage makers.

  3. Definitely the best reason is that it covers damage for any reason. They have a great reputation; I’d love to own one!

  4. All of the above is great .. any reason # 3 damage for any reason .. is awesome .. I need one of these carry on bags bad!!

  5. I just got off the line with Briggs & Riley. I have an 18 year old bag that has been repaired by them successfully twice in the past. They are now telling me that the bag is not repairable and are giving me two options: Buy a new bag for 50% off ($324 with shipping) or get a “demo” bag that may have scratches, etc. Unfortunately, there is not a demo bag equivalent to mine available and they tell me it could be a week or months until one can be shipped. To make matters worse, my original bag cannot even be returned to me – I paid FedEx to ship it to Long Island so they could throw it in a dumpster. I have been faithfully telling everyone I know about the great quality and service on these bags for almost two decades, but I was dead wrong. Their Lifetime Guarantee is not.

  6. After many years of using B&R suitcases and made free advertising for your company I desired to use life time warranty to repairs my two suitcases 29” or replacement.
Many years ago sales person explain to me that anything happened with luggage’s it’s cover by life warranty. I paid 3 times more for B&R compared to Samsonite only because company offered life warranty.
I contacted B&R office and paid for fed ex shipping & two RA #: 870716 and 870717 after two weeks I received my two suitcases back with absolutely terrible sloppy condition after repairing. On my phone calls company representatives responded “ warranty only for functionality and not appearing”
Please open pictures and check how it’s looks after “repair” I’m not able to add more pictures but it’s only small part of my luggage”repairs “
I contact Moss Beach CA repair center and speak to the manager by name Chack. He is offered to me partial credit or resends back one my case for a valuations. New RA # 873150.
Two days ago he called me and said”that suitecase looks good in my opinion, after so many years of usage “ “I’ll mail it back to you as is”
On my question if it’s any possibility to replace this terrible looking luggage’s to any other like:
Costumer returns,Store floor mode, discontinued model … he said ”no way”
I paid over $1000.00 and not willing to accept $100-200 credit to spend other $1500.00 for new model.Over this years I’m not abusing this bags and always take care your beautiful products but now it’s time time for B&R keep promises of LIFE TIME WARRANTY !!!!
Before I’ll do legal actions I decided to give B&R one more chance to treat long term customer in right way.
