It’s been a while since we’ve done a happy hour post, so we are taking it back to basics with a main ingredient to a perfect Happy Hour.

Every cocktail or mixed drink should have a good base alcohol as the main ingredient. And what better ingredient than Woodford Reserve.

Woodford Reserve

Perhaps Delta knows it’s important to get the base ingredient right. Maybe that’s why they never run out of mini Woodford Reserve bottles in the Sky. Here at Points, Miles & Martinis headquarters, we like to think we’ll never run out of Woodford Reserve either.

Delta In-Flight Coupon Giveaway

Points, Miles & Martinis will give one lucky winner a Delta in-flight coupon and a set of Points, Miles & Martinis cocktail napkins. A winner will be randomly selected one on Monday from all valid entries to receive the prize.

How To Enter

To enter for your chance to win, leave a comment with your guess to the following question:

  • How many mini Woodford Reserve bottles does it take to fill a Giant Woodford Reserve bottle?
  • Extra credit: What’s a good drink to make with Bourbon?

Hope you have a happy, Happy Hour. It’s five o’clock somewhere.

    35. Oh, you want a good drink to make with bourbon too? Fine. My favorite is bourbon. Just bourbon. That’s not a mixed drink? Alright, alright. Bourbon on the rocks. Ice counts as mixing, right?

  • Arthur H said,

Definitely the best cocktail is Woodford Neat.

  • Aleks K said,

It takes 35 50 ml mini-bottles to fill up one 1.75 l bottle. A good mixed drink would be a Mnahattan. Or a bourbon-variation of sidecar.

  • Amol (@PointsToPointB) said,

35, and my PDB of choice is Woodford with a bit of Ginger Ale (because you gotta have Ginger Ale on a plane …)

35 mini bottles in a 1.75L big bottle. A great bourbon cocktail is a Derby:

    1oz bourbon
    3/4 oz lime juice
    1/2 oz sweet vermouth
    1/2 oz Grand Marnier
Shaken and strained into chilled cocktail/martini glass
    Garnish with lime wedge

…and from my college days a “Bourbon Meyer” = Bourbon and Publix Sweet Tea

  • Emman said,

    30 mini bottles……

    Extra Credit: Bourbon and Coca-Cola!

It’ll take 35 of those little babies to fill a bottle….so at $245 per bottle it better be good!

Best Bourbon drink at that price –
-on ice with a splash of water.

If you want a mixed drink, Bourbon Sour is the way to go.
