Air France’s New Route To Paris Has Plenty of Business Class Award Availability

Posted on: March 16th, 2013 by: The Weekly Flyer

Air France has announced a new flight between Paris and Minneapolis. Ideally, this would mean enhanced award availability for SkyTeam partners as well as Flying Blue members. The flight will operate 5 times week May 21 through June 16th and then will go up to one daily flight from June 17, 2013 through September 1, 2013

New Flight Between Paris And Minneapolis

This seasonal service will feature an Airbus A340 with a total capacity of 275 seats – 30 in Business, 21 in Premium Economy, and 224 in Economy.
The schedule is as follows:

  • 5 weekly frequencies from May 21 through June 16, and subsequently one daily flight from June 17 through September 1
  • AF 697: Departure from Minneapolis at 8PM – Arrival in Paris at 11:25AM the next day
  • AF 694: Departure from Paris at 1:50PM – Arrival in Minneapolis at 4:05PM the same day

The flight shows great Business Class award availability for Flying Blue members.

Unfortunately the same Air France flight doesn’t show up on Delta’s website for award bookings. Instead, a Delta SkyMiles member gets the privilege of redeeming 200,000 SkyMiles for a Business Class ticket in the old cradle style Business Elite seats.

Bottom Line

Air France has announced a limited time flight between Minneapolis and Paris. Air France offers plenty of award availability for Flying Blue members but unfortunately this flight award availability isn’t showing up over Delta’s enhanced website.

When was the last time you were able to book an Air France award with Delta SkyMiles?
