Yesterday Baby Weekly Flyer had a Global Entry interview. At first, I thought the interview would end up with answers like “goodiegoodiegool”. But I obviously hadn’t been to a baby’s Global Entry interview before. I was pleasantly surprised.

Background
Both Mrs Weekly Flyer and I have Global Entry, courtesy of our Platinum American Express cards (The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Platinum Card® from American Express). This service allows us to access the fast track customs process when entering the United States. Babies are not allowed to tag along in the process unless they also have the same Global Entry status. So we embarked on getting Baby Weekly Flyer a passport and Global Entry Status.
I know, awe, Baby’s first status other than being the cutest baby in our world:)
The Interview
The interview started in the F terminal at Atlanta’s international airport. Both Mrs Weekly Flyer and I made it for the big event but we were instantly greeted with a statement that only one of us could attend the interview. But they were really excited to see Baby Weekly Flyer. Must have been the only baby interview of the day because they were quite smitten.
The first request was for Baby’s passport and we were off. The next series of statements involved “you have pretty eyes”, “you are so cute”, etc. We were told that Baby’s fingerprints were too small and would not be accepted. Instead of fingerprints, we would receive a card that provides Global Entry access for Baby instead of having a print out at the Global Entry station.
Bottom Line
The Global Entry process was smooth and efficient for a baby. The agent finished with “since we know Baby hasn’t been arrested” there will be no more questions. More of a formality than anything else.
If you have a Platinum American Express Card that provides a statement credit for the Global Entry fee, I’d suggest considering getting your baby Global Entry status.
Baby Weekly Flyer is one step closer to having Global Entry status.

I received an interesting reader question after Alex posted about how Cathay Pacific’s First Class availability is scary good right now. The question centered on the current US Airways 100% bonus for purchased or gift miles and what to do with the miles pre and post-merger. One thought is to wait to book awards after the… continue reading
