Dinner At Sunset Grill In Secret Harbor, St Thomas

Posted on: January 30th, 2013 by: The Weekly Flyer

After a nice Happy Hour at the Sunset Harbor Beach Club, we headed over to the Sunset Grill to enjoy an evening by the beach watching the sunset over a family dinner. We were feeling lucky after Baby Weekly Flyer had a great first flight on Delta to St Thomas, so we gambled by taking Baby Weekly Flyer to the early dinner seating.

Sunset On Secret Beach

Our first impression of Secret Harbour was very favorable. We knew what the beaches on St John were like, and hadn’t expected this on St Thomas. We were pleasantly surprised.

We were seated at a table directly on the beach. It wasn’t hard to get the best table when you show up for the first seating.

The next several pictures were taken during sunset from our table at the Sunset Grill at secret harbor. I’m working on getting better using my Cannon EOS Rebel T3I, but am still not familiar with all of the settings. So I took a few shots with different settings. You can see they all came out very differently. Which ones do you like the best?

Dinner At Sunset Grill

We started off the meal by ordering a chilled bottle of Rose Pinot Noir. Can’t recall the name, but it was French and good. It was placed in a bucket of ice near our table. The chilled wine and cool breeze was great, without them, the beating sun would have made for a warm evening otherwise.

For the main course, Mrs. Weekly Flyer went with the potato Gnocchi with truffles. I tasted this dish and it was good. It would have been great but the Gnocchi was slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Sunset Grill Gnochi

I ordered the Mahi Mahi with fruit salsa and it was by far the better of the two dishes. I could have eaten a granola bar as far as I was concerned because the best part of the meal was just enjoying some time with Mrs. Weekly Flyer and Baby Weekly Flyer.

Bottom Line

The gamble for the early dinner seating paid off. Everyone had a great time at the Sunset Grill in Secret Harbor on St Thomas.

If you make it here, you can relax with a few discounted drinks during happy hour while taking in the sunset. Or you can head on over to the Sunset Grill and enjoy a nice dinner.

Either way, it’s a great way little place to spend an evening on St Thomas.
