Can anyone give me an update on the Ritz-Carlton project in Dorado? Every website I go to still shows Hilton as the resort in Dorado… way outdated…

I grew up and live in Dorado Beach and what I see happening there now is utter destruction of the natural beauty that Rockefeller championed; ancient trees chopped to the ground and entire patches of magical forest decimated leaving deserted spaces. In its place, generic suburban “design landscape” which totally misses the point of the raw natural wild beauty that makes Dorado Beach unique in the resort hotel world. Let’s hope they stop killing trees and show some respect for this sacred space.

I spend many December with my children there great memories, golfing and the river pool, the Cuban sandwiches the kids loved the best .

We stayed at this property and it was wonderful.The Hotel and the timeshare property next door blended together as if they were one building. The pools and lazy river with the ocean beach was fantastic. We would go back in a heartbeat.

I can only echo Elsie’s comments above. The Hyatt Dorado Beach was always our very favorite destination. With direct beach access from your room, it was like having a piece of heaven right outside your back door. So happy to find that the place will be re-opened – hope it will be very soon. KP

The Dorado Beach hotel was my favorite place (of all time) to vacation. I was devastated when it was closed down. I am delighted to learn that there may be plans to build another hotel there. This site is absolutely glorious and I can’t wait to return there. My family and I spent many glorious summers there and have many happy memories. Please keep me posted. Thank you, Elsie
