Fuel for Thought: Rent a Hybrid at National Car Rental…

Author: The Gate, June 22nd, 2007

…as it can be a gas!

FlyerTalk member IceTrojan recently spotted Toyota Priuses - or would the plural be Toyota Prii?!? - at the Emerald Aisle at a National Car Rental location at the airport in Santa Ana in Orange County, California.

If you have spotted hybrid fuel-efficient vehicles at another National Car Rental location, please report them by posting in the FYI - I see hybrids… thread.

Five FT Finds

Author: The Gate, June 21st, 2007

An FTer birthday this week - wish fromYYZ_flyer a happy birthday on 28th June.

Jenbel and chrissxb have set up a fantastic consolidated do thread. So I am looking for 1 more new find to showcase each week. Any suggestions please by PM (click here)?

New news - CAAC asks pilots to improve English skills.

Something from the talking heads, err Talk Board - a snap poll to create an Alitalia forum was passed, as were motions to add an Italy destination forum and rename the Paris forum as France. A new forum for Finnair has been proposed by Q400.

Something random - b8b has just learned of the existence of mattress runs.

One Point. All You Need is One Single Point.

Author: The Gate, June 18th, 2007

What would you do if all you needed was one single point to top off your frequent guest account?

This is the exact situation that FlyerTalk member Vader is currently experiencing in order to accomplish adding one measly point to top off his or her Hyatt Gold Passport frequent guest account. Is this even possible? If not, what is the point?

Find out by pointing your Internet browser to the How can I get 1 Point thread.

Which City in Alaska?

Author: The Gate, June 16th, 2007

Juneau that FlyerTalk member Nobbi has been over a Barrow looking for advice as to Which city in Alaska? one should fly for a long weekend?

In all Fairbanks, I believe that the Anchorage of an Alaskan vacation should be based on what one likes to do and see, although there has been Nome mention of other Alaskan cities.

If one can affjord to go to Seward, I would recommend that location, although one may want to Homer in on other Alaskan locations.

Do you believe that I have been Whittier lately with what I have been posting in The Gate?

Author: The Gate, June 15th, 2007

FlyerTalk member Jon Maiman is not kidding around when he says that he wants to know whether or not to put his one-year-old daughter in a car seat as they travel on three flight segments in each direction aboard aircraft on their itinerary when they travel to Hawaii this summer.

What do you think?

Buckle your seat belt and post your advice in the To Car Seat or Not To Car Seat, That is the Question… thread.
