Incredibly, the United forum now has 1 million Flyer Talk posts.  There is a lot of useful information in those posts, and probably also a lot of complaints about hot nuts.

There has been a lot of discussion lately on mergers and takeovers amongst airlines.  Here is a (likely incomplete) summary, excluding the DL/NW merger which has been announced.

Continental

The strangest benefit(?) of status that I have come across was this meal incident experienced by Rambuster.

Most Flyer Talkers are interested in learning of ways to get or improve their frequent flyer elite status.  So, a thread by Grog comes as a contrarian suprise - how do you lose status?

I think this may be every FTers nightmare.  To be upgraded at check in but downgraded again at the gate.  How can this happen?  To whom has it happened?  Is there anything we can do to stop it happening to us?  Check out the thread.
