Honey Money for Honeymoon: No Honey Here?

Posted on: August 31st, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

FlyerTalk member Hauser33 claims that Starwood ruined our Honey Moon! (hotel refused to accept Starwood “honey money”).

Hauser33 was under the impression that Honey Money, paper certificates obtained for all gift purchases from one’s Starwood Honeymoon Registry, was good at any Starwood property worldwide, such as at the Four Points by Sheraton Roma West Hotel where Hauser33 attempted to use Honey Money paper certificates but was intially refused.

Did you know that Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. even had a honeymoon registry program?

Confusion and disagreement abound, including extensive discussions about legal issues, whether or not it makes a difference that Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. issued the Honey Money certificates and not the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program, and even how Hauser33 could possibly be labeled an “international criminal”.

Can FlyerTalk members Starwood Lurker and Starwood Lurker II step in and assist Hauser33 on this issue and save the day? Has a resolution been reached? If so, what and how?

For additional information, please visit the A Big Announcement Coming From SPG on September 2nd thread.

Starwood Lurker thinks that you will be as excited about the new initiative as they are…

Are you a points addict?

Perhaps the silly question of the day (of course we are, that’s one reason we visit Flyer Talk), but still interesting nonetheless.  While the quiz is in Priority Club forum, really it could be in any of the points and miles forums with just a minor change.

Sharing Your Room With Construction Workers

Posted on: August 28th, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

No, the Construction in my room! thread is not about going to bed and sleeping with construction workers in your hotel room – but some FlyerTalk members seem to feel that what happened to FlyerTalk member JamesTheRod is almost as bad.

JamesTheRod found two construction workers in his room working. “So, I just got back to my hotel room this afternoon to find two workers in my room. They had cut a hole in the drywall in the closet and seemed to be installing an access panel of some type, and installing bifold doors on the closet. I did get back to the room early in the afternoon, but don’t you think they could do this when the room is unoccupied? Their tools and stuff were all over the place, and I felt very odd just sitting in my room eating my lunch while they were working. Has anybody else encountered this type of situation?

That is a good question: have you encountered this type of situation? If so, what did you do? If not, what would you do?
