We Are Cramped, and That Passenger is Taking Up Three Seats!

Posted on: September 24th, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

Imagine having the good fortune of having a row of seats to yourself where you may stretch out, relax and go to sleep. Often, it is better than virtually all but the flat sleeper seats one finds in the premium class cabin of an aircraft, but at a much lower airfare. Who cares about food or in-flight entertainment while you are sleeping comfortably in the economy class cabin on a flight…

…but what if that particular flight is crowded and other passengers are cramped? Is it bad manners to take up three seats while other passengers are barely squeezing together elsewhere on the aircraft, or is it simply good fortune of which one must take advantage? Are you a Seat Hog?

Find out what fellow FlyerTalk members think as they post some serious and some rather funny comments in the Seat Hog? thread.

Is a Forum About Seniors Travel Getting Old?

Posted on: September 23rd, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

There is a proposal in the TalkBoard forum regarding a Proposal: close seniors forum. Some FlyerTalk members believe that due to low traffic, the Seniors Travel forum should be closed and eliminated.

Do you believe that FlyerTalk forums improve with age and that the Seniors Travel forum should have a chance and be given more time, or do you believe that it is time for that forum to retire?

Now is the time to have your say as to whether or not the Seniors Travel forum requires social security.

Is it Natural to Dwell on Artificial Flavors?

Posted on: September 22nd, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

What are Your feelings on artificial flavors?

Traveling all over the world, I have seen many foods flavored naturally as well as artificially. Are artificial flavorings always necessarily bad for food? Some FlyerTalk members opine that they prefer certain foods to be flavored artificially rather than naturally for a variety of reasons.

Is it natural to be naturally artificial about artificial flavors, or do you prefer to be naturally artificial about natural flavors when artificially applied to natural foods that were natural but became artificial even though the flavorings may be natural?

So, I won a trip to Australia …

What is Gourmet Coffee?

Posted on: September 20th, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

I have not bean wondering about the answer to what is gourmet coffee, as coffee is not my cup of tea, but on the grounds that FlyerTalk member mjcewl1284 is asking What IS Gourmet Coffee?, I figured posting this question here would stir up some interest.

I am not intending to roast this thread, nor do I consider it the cream of FlyerTalk threads, but I figured I would milk this topic for all it is worth. No, I will not ask you pretty please with sugar on it to read this thread either. However, if you feel like espressoing yourself and your thoughts to that thread, then by all means please post to it, no matter how dark your topic may be.

By the way, you might need Java in order to be able to read this thread.

Chicago to Miami: US$50,005.00!

Posted on: September 19th, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

How would you like to be FlyerTalk member kneemuh, who was attempting to purchase an airfare between Chicago and Miami and found the bargain-basement price of US$50,000.00 for an economy-class ticket?

You get a bonus with that airfare: the return trip is included in the itinerary, absolutely free of charge! But is this itinerary refundable? Does it come with any extras or services, such as a meal? Are there any of those pesky extra fees on top of the purchase price of this itinerary?

For more information, as well as speculation and humorous commentary from fellow FlyerTalk members and actual screen shot pictures of the airfare from the Internet web site of United Airlines, please see the Most expensive coach ticket to MIA ever? thread.

How Would You Find the Valet if He Stole Your Global Positioning System?

Posted on: September 18th, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

FlyerTalk member jasonpbyu just learned a valuable lesson about leaving valuables in his car when he has the valet park his car at the hotel property at which he is staying.

jasonpbyu says the Valet stole my GPS, should I file a police report? Most FlyerTalk members that have posted to this point consider the possibility of the retrieval of his Global Positioning System, or GPS, to be a lost cause.

What should jasonpbyu do? At which hotel property did this occur? What exactly happened? Will there be a positive outcome to this situation?

Food for Thought Regarding Weird Combinations

Posted on: September 16th, 2008 by: Brian Cohen

Do you have a craving for spaghetti with walnuts and sugar?

How about some spinach pasta with ketchup and corn flake crumbs?

Perhaps you have a hankering for cornbread in a glass of milk, with bits of onion and pepper?

How can you go a day without a peanut butter and Cap’n Crunch sandwich?

If you enjoy eating unlikely food combinations such as toast with strawberry jam together with spaghetti and meat sauce, the the What weird food combinations are you into? thread is just for you and should suit your…er…taste, or lack thereof. Warning: this thread is not for those with queasy stomachs, so if the thought of spaghetti with butter, raisins, cinnamon and parmesan cheese for breakfast easily nauseates you, perhaps it is best that you do not peruse that thread.

Excuse me while I go have an sandwich of olives drenched in chocolate sauce…
