There is a debate that is currently dormant regarding Should X-Rated Movies Be Banned From Hotel Rooms?
This topic was exposed wide open back on 3 January 2003, as FlyerTalk members uncovered facts and opinions regarding the availability of salacious movies in hotel rooms. Should they be allowed, as children under 18 could access them, or should the parents be responsible for having the movies blocked? That is one of the issues discussed. What exactly is revealed in the Should X-Rated Movies Be Banned From Hotel Rooms? thread?

The Books For Your Travels – A Free FT Library thread is a resource by FlyerTalk members who wish to loan out their books to fellow FlyerTalk members to read whilst traveling. This generous offer, which was launched by the otterly-amazing fellow FlyerTalk member Anglo Large Clawed Otter, has been expanded upon by several other FlyerTalk members willing to share their library.
Is there a book that perhaps you would like to read? Is there a book which you would like to share with other fellow FlyerTalk members?

For us, we would guess thousands, if county, city, country, continent, state, province, parish, borough and other land borders count.
However, in the How many land borders have you crossed? thread, only country borders are counted and considered valid. As a bonus, how the land border was crossed — whether by boat, train or vehicle, for example — may also be listed. Some FlyerTalk members included by air and by foot as well.
See which FlyerTalk member currently holds the record for the number of country crossings, as well as post your record, in the How many land borders have you crossed? thread.

“Walked,” says FlyerTalk member bcmatt.
Other FlyerTalk members have slept in airports, became passengers on buses or trains instead of airplanes, stayed in hostels, hitchhiked, slept behind the staircase on a famous main street in a busy world city, used imitation student identification cards to gain discounts, and even purchased a four-cylinder automobile.
Other ideas and experiences can be found in the What is the cheapest thing you have done to save on transportation? thread, and you may post your own ideas and experiences there as well.

Often, news goes on around the world that captures the attention of the world. Much of the time, when an event occurs so far away from where one lives or travels, it is easy to simply dismiss it.
For example, there was the news story that Mumbai rocked by deadly shootings—BBC, which occurred a few weeks ago. FlyerTalk members were horrified by what was going on there and posted the news as it occurred.
After the situation finally ended — at least, for the short term — FlyerTalk members who are looking for a good deal and are not afraid to venture into volatile areas of the world want to know Will Mumbai / Indian hotel room rates drop after terror attacks?
However, for one FlyerTalk member in particular, the current events that occurred in Mumbai hit close to home — too close to the heart, for that matter — and became a personal tragedy. More details may be found in the Our condolences to AJLondon thread, which started off benignly enough when it was launched but then was called to our attention here at The Gate. Find out why, as well as to offer condolences, as many other FlyerTalk members have.

Does anyone have any Tips for reviving comatose E-Reward account?
That is the question asked by FlyerTalk member shorelife, who used to receive e-mails with opportunities to earn e-Rewards points for free miles and points in various frequent traveler programs but has not heard from this program in a long time.
This, of course, prompted other FlyerTalk members who have similar issues with e-Rewards to post.
Will their e-Rewards accounts indeed be revived, or are they relegated to some form of purgatory forever?
