No cabbage needs to be paid to be a FlyerTalk member unless one wants to head off the advertisements to become a premium member.
However, things must be slaw and uneventful if FlyerTalk member BamaVol is getting steamed about What size should a side of slaw be?
It is enough to make anyone’s kraut sauer…

Imagine missing your flight connection due to an extensive delay, only to be told by a representative of the airline that the only way the airline will pay for lodging for you for the night would be if you agreed to share your hotel room with a complete stranger.
This scenario may seem outrageous, but that is allegedly what happened to the mother-in-law of FlyerTalk member riversair when her United Airlines flight from Pittsburgh to Chicago arrived too late for her to make her connecting flight to Oklahoma City. She reportedly would up sharing a room with another woman and her child, both of whom she had never met before that night.
Would you tolerate being Forced to Share Hotel Room With Stranger?

FlyerTalk members scrambled to secure the now [EXPIRED] Crowne Plaza Venice East Quarto D Altino 1€ room rate. After all, with dreams of riding on gondolas in arguably one of the most romantic cities in the world, who would not want to secure such an inexpensive room rate for two nights for the cost of the rough equivalent of ten cents?
However, there is a chance that the rate will not be honored, as a report has surfaced with allegations that the central computer system of InterContinental Hotels Group in Atlanta has been “hacked”. As a result, a controversy is brewing with many different questions: for example, FlyerTalk members ask that if the central computer system really was “hacked”, why not choose a more expensive and luxurious hotel?
FlyerTalk members who were involved in booking a hotel room at the incredibly low rate now find themselves in the middle of a drama swirling with speculation…

FlyerTalk members took advantage of a (FARE GONE) DL: JFK/BOS to DPS/CGK/MNL via Europe – 1482 USD ++ – Business Class round-trip airfare when it was first announced back in April, creating routes that allowed them to potentially earn thousands of both actual frequent flier program miles and elite status qualification miles while traveling in comfort and style — even going so far as to choose some of the more premium airlines in the world — to exotic destinations in Southeast Asia.
However, problems have started to surface regarding those who have started out on their journeys, only to hit unexpected snags and snafus, and the ongoing saga continue. One example is that FlyerTalk member UVAhoo06 was unexpectedly upgraded on a flight, only to have that flight possibly miss the connection to the next flight.
At the time this entry was posted, nobody knows what happened to UVAhoo06 or where in the world UVAhoo06 is located…

A tough choice for many Flyer Talkers. What advice would you give to a travel addict who has been banned from travel by his wife?

It’s amazing what people think about during a longhaul flight in comfort. og pondered an airborne experiment in fluid dynamics (aka a good excuse to drink some more great wine). Other FTers are sharing their thoughts. The conclusion so far? FTers, especially Australian FTers, like to drink. Who would have thought?

You read the title of this entry correctly: All you can jet on JetBlue in one month for $599, including domestic taxes and fees but not including international and Puerto Rico taxes and fees, on any available seat on any flight systemwide between September 8 and October 8.
However, there are restrictions and limitations with the jetBlue All-you-can-Jet pass, such as a 3-day advance purchase is required, and there is a $100 penalty if you miss a flight or cancel within the three days. One does earn 35 TrueBlue points.
Please read both threads for more information and details.
