New Hyatt Gold Passport frequent guest loyalty program members, as well as existing members, can take advantage of the offer of attaining Hyatt Instant Platinum & Fasttrack to Diamond – through 12/31/10.
Once registered, the Gold Passport member keeps Platinum status for 180 days and, with fifteen nights within those 180 days, will earn Diamond status and keep it until February 2012. If one can only stay five nights within those 180 days, one keeps Platinum status until February 2012.
Of course, there are rules and restrictions, but it is certainly an offer worth considering.

Traveling from anywhere in the United States to Japan for only US$299.00 round-trip sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
Well, when one considers that with taxes and fees, the airfare is ~$600 Anywhere USA to Japan book on 2/20, and that tickets are limited in number and availability, and it can only be booked through one travel agency, and that the airfare can only be booked from 9:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon on February 20, and that the airfare is only good on departures through May 15, 2010 for travel during the rainy season in Japan, and that it is from any origination location in the United States “where service is available,” and that the carrier is unknown, and that the airfare reportedly will not earn frequent flier loyalty program miles, then yes — when reality sets in, this deal may just be too good to be true for many people.

Although life for FlyerTalk member Helena Handbaskets is not — well — hell in a hand basket, he (not she) is not nauseous or sick at all — at least, as far as we know, anyway.
Rather, he is asking fellow FlyerTalk members: “Will you help me collect (clean) airsickness bags for my son’s B’day?”
His son is celebrating his fifth birthday with a party on February 20, and Helena Handbaskets would like to use the airsick bags for guests to take home with them, filled with party favors.
Although this is short notice, any assistance to fulfill this unusual request would most likely be greatly appreciated, but please ensure the airsick bags have not already been — ahem — used.

If traveling has become a real pain for you lately, you may want to consider getting yourself a coupon for free Excedrin, up to $5.99.
Just do not say in the survey that you use Excedrin.
The Gate does not in any way officially endorse Excedrin; this is simply an alert to save money on pain relievers.

FlyerTalk member BlissWorld says that a Purser Flirted with Girl Across From me, Then Upgraded Her to J on an Air Canada flight.
The incident reportedly started before the aircraft departed from the gate, where the older male flight attendant allegedly flirted with the young woman for as many as 20 minutes. Once the aircraft departed, he whispered something in her ear, and voilà! After she crawls to the premium cabin and the curtain separating the premium cabin from the economy coach cabin is suddenly closed, she is enjoying her unexpected upgrade.
FlyerTalk members not only decry the spontaneous upgrade, but also question the ethics of the flight attendant for flirting with anyone while on duty — but what could be the truth behind this story?
Happy Valentine’s day!
