An Australian woman, who was once a beauty salon manager at the Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in the United Arab Emirates, reportedly spent eight months in jail because she was raped, which supposedly is considered having sex outside of marriage — an illegal act in the United Arab Emirates under the charge of adultery.
The alleged rape by as many as four co-workers at the international five-star resort was apparently a result of her drink being spiked. The traumatized woman is currently suing for compensation from the hotel — a Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide property — for breaching its workplace duty of care.
FlyerTalk members respond and comment in a heated discussion about the Woman jailed after rape at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort sues.

If you cannot afford to float a loan to pay for parking your vehicle at the airport, taking a taxi cab, or using public transportation to get to the airport to catch your flight, you may want to consider a Swim to/from the Airport to save money, as you may be buoyed by the idea of not having to wave goodbye to your hard-earned money.
A disadvantage is that the water near an airport might have more of a chance of being polluted, but at least one would not have to be concerned when attempting to swim to such airports as those in Las Vegas and Wichita…

“March 4, 2011 I was going through TSA security at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. First I was singled out to go through the full body scanner. I did it. Second I was singled out for a full body pat down. I did it. Then they asked about my money belt under the clothes. I have traveled to over 80 countries, have lived around the world, and a veteran traveler. I always wear a money belt as a way to carry extra cash and a credit card if my wallet is lost or stolen.
“In order to take off the cross body money belt I had to remove my shirts which I did. I gave the money belt to the TSA officer. He started bending it and I told him to watch there was a credit card in there. Then the supervisor came over and asked:
“‘How much money is in there?’
“I told him it was none of his business and he said it was. He then asked me where I was going and I told him to Europe but at that point I only had a boarding ticket to NYC where I had a 12 hour layover. He told me I had to tell him how much was in there since I was going international and I told him that was not his job as it isn’t. He then got angry, demanded my passport and boarding ticket to be photocopied. He said he would be calling immigration and customs. After twenty minutes (about to miss my flight) he gave them back to me and said customs and immigration will be talking with me (not sure if he meant upon return or not). Then he said I could go but then the other guy with him said I couldn’t. He demanded my license which I gave him. They photocopied that. Then they asked for my phone number and I gave them that. Meanwhile I took my iphone from my luggage which was still on the conveyor belt and when they saw that they said they were calling the cops. I then hit audio record. The policeman showed up and the TSA asked if he was going to run me through the system. Again, they knew I had a flight to catch and that they were in the wrong. The policeman told them no that I had done nothing wrong. I made my flight.”
This story is the alleged first-hand account in the words of FlyerTalk member mkann69 when reportedly asked How much money are you carrying? TSA required answer at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
What are your thoughts?

Picture this: what if you were threatened by a flight attendant to delete photographs you took of your feet on-board an aircraft? What if a flight attendant ran up to a Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, agent at customs upon arrival and reported you for taking photography, implying that you did so in the terminal area even though you did no such thing?
This scenario is allegedly what happened to FlyerTalk member BobbySteel after reportedly getting his feet run over at least twice by a beverage cart and being denied the extra legroom because of said beverage cart while seated in row 31 aboard an American Airlines Boeing 777 aircraft. As a result, he took a photo of his own area 24 inches from the seat.
What should BobbySteel do about this situation, if anything?

Ironically, at the same airport where the crew aboard aircraft enforced a mandatory requirement that passengers be seated either 30 minutes before landing or thirty minutes after take-off, the Tower at Reagan National goes silent as planes attempt to land, allegedly forcing an American Airlines Boeing 737 aircraft flying in from Miami with 97 on board and a United Airlines Airbus 320 aircraft flying in from Chicago with 68 passengers and crew to land on their own. The crew of the American Airlines aircraft first attempted to abort its landing.
There is speculation that the aircraft landed without clearance because the air traffic controller — who was a supervisor — was asleep.

When Memphis International Airport became a hub for Delta Air Lines as a result of its merger with Northwest Airlines, some frequent fliers expected a reduction in traffic as a result, while others hoped that Memphis would offer relief to Atlanta, the busiest airport in the world and the main hub of Delta Air Lines.
Those who predicted a reduction in traffic were correct, as per an announcement released by Delta Air Lines — but is this news really as bad as it sounds? It depends on one’s point of view and to where one travels from Memphis.
In addition to the approximately 25% reduction in flights to and from Memphis, in which This will hit MEM hard, Delta Air Lines will also retire some CRJ-50 regional jet aircraft.
Could this reduction in flights give Southwest Airlines a potential stronghold in Memphis? Does this reduction in flights mean higher fares and full airplanes in the future for those who fly in and out of Memphis? Will any further reductions in flights be implemented by Delta Air Lines in the future?

FlyerTalk member Jack Napier found an Interesting Google Maps Shot in which an airplane was caught in mid-flight — something which can be considered unusual for Google Maps.
The questions are: to what airline company does that airplane belong, what was the destination of that aircraft, and what was the altitude of that aircraft at the time that photograph was taken?

FlyerTalk member mare0114 does acknowledge fault when mare0114 Left Designer Jeans in Room but “Not Found” by Fairfax DC, which means the lost $200.00 pair of designer jeans, which were folded up and accidentally left inside one of the drawers of the bedside dresser, will not return to its rightful owner after all.
As other similar stories were being related, FlyerTalk members began wondering why luxury hotels do not call proactively call former guests when they find something valuable left behind in a room. Could the answer ultimately be to protect the privacy of the guest?
Anyway, not all of the stories end on a negative note, as some FlyerTalk members have had hotel properties either hold onto or return their personal belongings, while others simply reimbursed the value of the lost property to their former guests…

FlyerTalk member Swanhunter is carving out a niche with a request as to What knives to buy?
Sharp FlyerTalk members give cutting-edge recommendations without slicing into the nature of the request, with some suggestions being an absolute steel that anyone who wants knives should be able to handle — no bones about it.
Before we “stick a fork” in this topic and s-pare you from being spoon-fed any more of these puns, one thing with which one does not have to be concerned is the aforementioned FlyerTalk thread being under-serrated…
