1,000 Passengers on One Aircraft?

Posted on: May 30th, 2011 by: Brian Cohen

If you thought that the Airbus A380 — already the largest commercial passenger aircraft in the world — could not get any bigger, then fasten your seat belts, as the Airbus Expanded A380 could hold up to 1,000 passengers. This aircraft is also currently known as the A380-1000.

There is a report that Air Austral is planning an all-economy-class configuration of the current version of the Airbus A380 with 840 seats.

Some FlyerTalk members wonder where the race to cram as many people as possible into one aircraft will end…

Man Issued Lifetime Ban From Delta Air Lines

Posted on: May 29th, 2011 by: Brian Cohen

At first glance, it may seem as though a 40-year-old Man Flirted his way into Lifetime Ban on DL. However, the story gets stranger, as a 23-year-old woman who writes a weblog gives details on how she possibly thwarted a man possible capable of committing terror. He allegedly lit a torch on-board the Delta Air Lines aircraft en route to Atlanta from Dallas, which calls into question the security policies implemented by the Transportation Security Administration. He gave her chocolates. He reportedly said things that could possibly cause a person to fear that they are indeed in danger.

Was the woman a heroine who saved the day, or did she purposely entrap the man to create a situation that may have been otherwise unnecessary? Was he a threat, or simply flirting with the woman? Was he deranged or drunk? Does he deserve the lifetime ban from Delta Air Lines?

Taking Matters Into His Own Hands

Posted on: May 27th, 2011 by: Brian Cohen

There was a 25-year-old Florida Man arrested for how shall we say, masturbating, on United flight from Spokane to Denver by United States Federal Bureau of Investigation agency officials. The obscene incident was witnessed by an 18-year-old woman seated in the row across from the suspect, as well as two passengers seated behind the suspect aboard the aircraft.

We are not certain, but the possible reason why the suspect was — er — aroused could be because of people who wear Too little on for security! Apparently, some Transportation Security Administration personnel do not like when passengers wear so little apparel while moving through the airport security checkpoint that they cannot be screened…

Iceland Volcano Eruption Threatens Trans-Atlantic Flights

Posted on: May 22nd, 2011 by: Brian Cohen

Before you say “here we go again: volcano eruption in iceland forces closure of airspace [May 2011]”, experts predict that the eruption of the Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland will not be as disruptive to airline flights crossing the northern Atlantic Ocean as the eruption one year ago of the volcano Eyjafjallajokull, also in Iceland.

Keflavik International Airport is reported open but no aircraft are taking off or landing. However, FlyerTalk member Christopher comments: “No offence to Hjordis Guðmundsdóttir, but I think for most people in the general public the main point of an airport is the planes taking off and landing…”

Please Say a Prayer for Liam

Posted on: May 21st, 2011 by: Brian Cohen

FlyerTalk member wsucougarchick05 has asked for prayers before regarding her grandfather from fellow FlyerTalk members, but she says “I asked for prayers ’round this time last year…I’m asking for them again…” regarding the baby boy of a friend of hers who was diagnosed with a rare blood disease in October and recently received a life-saving bone marrow transplant from his big brother. She includes a link to a weblog with plenty of photographs and information regarding the progress of the baby boy whose name is Liam.

Please show some support as other FlyerTalk members already have. Thank you in advance.
