FlyerTalk member wsucougarchick05 has asked for prayers before regarding her grandfather from fellow FlyerTalk members, but she says “I asked for prayers ’round this time last year…I’m asking for them again…” regarding the baby boy of a friend of hers who was diagnosed with a rare blood disease in October and recently received a life-saving bone marrow transplant from his big brother. She includes a link to a weblog with plenty of photographs and information regarding the progress of the baby boy whose name is Liam.

Making it easy to recognize company representatives by having the FlyerTalk name of the representative in green as well as the title Company Representative is meant to enhance your FlyerTalk experience in case you need to contact an official company representative through FlyerTalk, or to ensure that promotions, information or news posted regarding that particular company are indeed official.

More and more company officials representing companies such as hotels, credit cards and airlines are now using FlyerTalk to post news, promotions and information, as well as to communicate with their customers.

United and Continental are Now United on FlyerTalk

The Continental OnePass forum and the original United Mileage Plus forum are now sub-forums, or “child” forums, of the new consolidated United Mileage Plus forum on FlyerTalk, as a result of the eventual merger of the OnePass and Mileage Plus frequent flier loyalty programs.

However, FlyerTalk members debate in a civil manner as to whether the consolidation of these forums happened too soon with An open question to moderators RE: this United consolidated forum., as well as thank the moderators of the consolidated forum for their continued dedication and service.

Internet Brands and Randy Petersen Settle Lawsuit

An Amicable Resolution over a legal contract dispute has been reached between Internet Brands, the company based in El Segundo, California that currently owns FlyerTalk, and Randy Petersen, the founder of FlyerTalk.

The Gate first broke the news regarding the lawsuit on June 13, 2010.

Details regarding the contract dispute and its settlement are undisclosed and remain confidential. Nevertheless, “as always, Randy and Internet Brands support the FlyerTalk community and its continued success.”

FlyerTalk Member Cleared of All Charges in Airport Security Identification Case

FlyerTalk member pmocek has been found by a jury not guilty of all four charges levied against him in what is being considered a landmark case pertaining to the rights of passengers when traveling.

The Gate first reported on this story back on November 16, 2009, and many FlyerTalk members are rejoicing at the decision of the court regarding how pmocek was arrested at the airport security checkpoint in Albuquerque, New Mexico for refusing to show his identification upon demand of Transportation Security Administration, or TSA.
