Continental Airlines Presidents Club membership, Day Pass and Passbook rates will increase, and individuals and companies will be limited to a total of 20 Passbook purchases a year, both as of July 1, 2010. However, one can renew or purchase one’s Presidents Club membership before the July 1 rate increase.

While there may not have been any physical altercation, profanity was used in a place where people normally go to retreat and relax because there was a Lounge Fight! Bad Behavior in the Executive Lounge apparent resulted from a difference in opinion on a matter as trivial as which news program to watch on the television in the executive lounge.

Going to a Delta Sky Club? You May Want to Bring a Toaster…

Posted on: March 26th, 2010 by: Brian Cohen

…but first, you will have to answer a question asked by FlyerTalk member jenniparks: could i bring a toaster through security into the skyclub?

While there is a debate as to whether or not the Delta Sky Clubs at Washington National Airport or at the airport in Salt Lake City have toasters, a small movement has formed to purchase toasters and donate them to those locations which purportedly do not have a toaster. There is even a suggestion to cover a wall in select Sky Clubs with pictures of toasters.

Travel can be tiring, especially when schedules are uncooperative or when lengthy delays occur.  So it is quite natural to sometimes want to take a snooze while waiting for a flight. Having a Lounge All to Yourself: Would You Feel Strange?

Posted on: January 18th, 2010 by: Brian Cohen

The Emptiest Flight was recently discussed here at The Gate. However, Do you feel strange when you’re the only person in a lounge?

Imagine having a lounge all to yourself having all of the personnel working in the lounge available to serve you at your whim. There are no mobile telephone conversations to interrupt you and no lines on which to wait. You can sit anywhere you want, and there is ample room to store your belongings.

Not surprisingly, there are a number of FlyerTalk members who would be just fine with this scenario, although one of them felt less than comfortable having the lounge bartender staring at him or her…

“Who Unplugged My Laptop, Closed It and Moved It?!?”

In a quest to find a little bit of — er — relief, FlyerTalk member schley left an open laptop computer with some other belongings alone for a few minutes in a crowded airport lounge near the bathrooms, only to find all of his belongings moved approximately ten feet away to a different area upon his return.

FlyerTalk members discuss whether or not this a truly a case of BAD etiquette in Airline Lounge, or if could schley have been more proactive to prevent this — or something worse — from happening? Did schley ever find out who was the culprit and, if so, what happened next?
