Considering that Atlanta is arguably the home of the world’s largest airport and the home base of one of the world’s largest airlines — not to mention that many Fortune 500 companies are either based there or have regional offices there — it seemed silly to have to apply for a passport in either New Orleans, Miami or Washington, D.C.

Those who reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area, therefore, will most likely be happy to know that Atlanta Finally Has Its Own Passport Office!

Although the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place today, the official opening of the office was on May 2, 2011. Greater than 50,000 customers are expected during the first year alone.

On a similar vein to the previous post, ty97 also has a passport problem. The passport pages fell out while away, and the embassy is closed for the long weekend. Can you help?

What was supposed to be a fun holiday weekend in Europe is suddenly turning out to be unexpectedly inconvenient and problematic for FlyerTalk member jenniparks, as she has a specific question about Delta in ZRH – urgent.

Instead of enjoying bratwurst and beer in Switzerland, her passport, money and identification were all stolen while in Zurich. She has no way of identifying herself and is doubtful as to whether she will be able to return home to the United States. Worse yet, the Delta Air Lines ticket counters at the airport in Zurich are closed until Monday 7 September, and the United States consulate is closed for the American Labor Day holiday and will not re-open again until Tuesday 8 September.

Can you offer advice and help reassure jenniparks that she will indeed be able to return home?
