A Footnote: This Job Stinks — Literally, Part II

Here we go again.

As first reported in The Gate back on October 17, 2009, Transportation Security Administration personnel complained about odoriferous feet.

They are complaining again, this time at the airport in West Palm Beach, Florida — and FlyerTalk members such as FLgrr are saying “Smelly feet – TSA gets what they deserve!!” In fact, the smell is apparently so bad that they want the carpet replaced at the airport, even though the shoe removal policy in force at most security checkpoints may be contributing to the problem.

Will the Transportation Security Administration need to toe the line on this issue once and for all, or will the authority that operates the airport in West Palm Beach give in and buy new carpet?

FlyerTalk member SwissYankee says, “for once, I feel sorry for TSA employees (passenger with extrmely smelly feet/shoes)” — and the occasional assault on the olfactory sense by allegedly unkempt passengers may keep the Transportation Security Administration personnel instep and on their toes as they apparently do attempt to put their heart and sole into their job, even though they might arch back from the variety of odors they experience at times.

By the way, be forewarned, as this topic is not for those that become easily queasy…
